I'm proud to announce our complete StarCityGames.com Open Series schedule through mid-August, including the date and location of 2013's second StarCityGames.com Invitational!

In case you missed it…

Orlando, FL (March 30-31), Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX (May 25-26), and Salt Lake City, UT (August 10-11) will feature two $10,000 Standard Opens—one on Saturday and another on Sunday.

Charlotte, NC (May 11-12) and Richmond, VA (July 20-21) will feature a $10,000 Standard Open on Saturday and a $10,000 Sealed Open on Sunday.

Somerset, NJ (May 4-5) will feature a $10,000 Standard Open on Saturday and a $10,000 Team Sealed Open on Sunday. At the end of July, the same location will also play host to the second StarCityGames.com Open Series featuring the Invitational of 2013!

The other twenty-one Sundays still feature Legacy Opens, and we have no intention of abandoning our support of the format. However, one of the key factors in the success of StarCityGames.com's Organized Play programs has been our willingness to try new things. Experimenting with alternate formats in a handful of locations is simply another example of that.

Speaking of trying new things, two things we tried that have not accomplished their intended goals were increasing Invitational prize payouts from $50,000 to $75,000 and continuing to offer Draft Opens at Invitationals. Because of this, StarCityGames.com Invitationals will once again be awarding $50,000 prize payouts, and we will be replacing the three smaller Draft Opens currently offered at Invitationals with one larger Limited event: a Sealed Classic (with Top 8 booster draft) that will take place on Invitational Sundays alongside the Legacy Open. As with all Classics, this event will offer a $5,000 prize payout and eight (8) slots to an upcoming StarCityGames.com Invitational!

As previously announced, starting this weekend in Columbus, all StarCityGames.com Standard or Legacy Open participants will be receiving a FREE deck box, FREE voucher good for one month of StarCityGames.com Premium, and a FREE set of these limited-edition, StarCityGames.com Open Series-exclusive tokens…just for playing!

I'm excited to announce that we are also going to begin immortalizing all future StarCityGames.com Invitational champions by producing tokens featuring their likenesses and including them in upcoming series of StarCityGames.com Open Series-exclusive tokens, similar to those shown above! This is something we've received a lot of requests for, and we're thrilled to be able to offer StarCityGames.com Invitational competitors a chance to immortalize themselves in this manner!
