Prepare to play Legacy at SCG Open Series: Atlanta and find out more about the Pyromancer Opposition deck that Drew wrote about last week by watching him pilot it on Magic Online!

I started recording a Daily Event before the one above, but my computer crashed in round 2, killing Camtasia and leaving only the first round. Since the chat provides some entertainment value, I thought it would be worth including anyway.

As you can see, I changed the decklist a bit between when I wrote my article and when I recorded these videos. The maindeck Battle Screech is gone, never to return, instead replaced by Bitterblossom. When you have questions about the power level of a card, try to consult another format’s banned and restricted list where applicable.

The sideboard got a more thorough overhaul. Last week’s list had a lot of sideboard cards that were high impact but terrible in multiples. A good friend of mine pointed out to me that my sideboard was both narrow and filled with these types of cards, and I recognized his point as a valid critique. The second Bitterblossom or Umezawa’s Jitte is so much worse than the first, and I didn’t even have a card that could answer an enchantment!

My changes are all aimed at covering more situations—Perish is for Nimble Mongoose and Progenitus, the Surgical Extraction is for Life from the Loam and Bridge from Below, and the Wear // Tears are for many different matchups. As always, I suggest creating a sideboard that answers your metagame’s most pressing questions. With access to all five colors, you should be able to find something.

I’m always interested in hearing what you have to say about these videos, but I’d like to use this comment section to solicit feedback for the broader concept of my column. Are you interested in hearing about brews and rogue decks, tuning them, and watching them play? Or would you rather read and watch biweekly breakdowns of a deck both on paper and in action? I’ve gotten good feedback from people on both fronts, so there are clear markets for either, but I’m curious as to what you want to get out of this.

Until next week,
