Perhaps most famous for his ‘Cho-Hawk,’ Pro Tour Avacyn Restored top 8 competitor Josh Cho has brought M13 Master of the Pearl Trident to the table today, along with several other Merfolk. Morgan McLaughlin may not have Josh’s track record, but he’s got the top seed and RUG Delver to the table. Both players looked pensive getting ready for the match. After all, they were playing for a chance to play for the SCG championship trophy!
Morgan McLaughlin is the top seed, with a 7-1 record on the day playing RUG Delver. Dan Walton snuck in to top 8, but he’s armed with one of the boogeymen of the format, Dredge. Will 5-Color Zombies be able to defeat one of the format’s premier tempo strategies?
Kurt’s Elf Wave deck has been the talk of the tournament here in Buffalo. After Kurt’s top decked Green Sun’s Zenith in game 3 of the semifinals to steal the win from Alex Neufeldt, and Carl’s ability to fight through triple Stonehorn Dignitary in his last match, both players are very happy to be here… but that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to fight just as hard for the win!
Carl Dillahay has been playing M13’s newest addition to the Delver of Secrets deck, Talrand, Sky Summoner, to astounding results. Kai Burnett has Bant Pod with all the trimmings, including singleton Deadeye Navigator, Stonehorn Dignitary, and Frost Titan. Who would reign supreme in this matchup of spicy metagame calls?
