Quarterfinals: Peter Tragos vs. Tim Huckeby
Peter brings B/W Midrange to the fight and Tim had the power of green and white creatures at his side. Which player will move on to the semifinals to face off against Burn?
Peter cracks a smile.
Peter led with a tapped Godless Shrine into Pack Rat as Tim had an Experiment One into Solider of the Pantheon to evolve the human ooze and attack for 2. Peter passed after playing his third land and holding the rat back so Tim played a Fleecemane Lion to evolve the Experiment One and attacked for 5 dropping Peter to 13. Tim passed and Peter was on the Pack Rat plan, making a token at the end of the turn.
Peter used a Banishing Light on the Lion and served in for 4 with his rats. Tim evolved his ooze again with a Loxodon Smiter and served in, knocking Peter to 7. Peter thought for a while before shipping the turn back, leaving back his two rats and three open mana. Tim shocked himself before sending his team into the red zone, representing an Advent of the Wurm, so Peter considered his blocks.
Peter decided on putting rats in front of the ooze and Soldier. Peter went to 6 before damage to use a Bile Blight on the Experiment One, so Tim flashed in the 5/5 trampling Wurm to evolve the Experiment One and allowed the rats to trade with the Soldier and Experiment One, knocking Peter to 2. Peter drew for the turn and decided it was time to go to Game 2.
