Round 11: Chris VanMeter vs. Tariq Patel
Chris is the last undefeated player in the room and faces off against Tariq in an Amulet Bloom mirror match. Can Chris keep up his winning ways or will Tariq play spoiler?
It's Titan time for Tariq..
Chris opened the game with a Serum+Visions while Tariq, on a mulligan to five, led off with a Cavern+of+Souls on "Giant" and played an Amulet+of+Vigor. Chris had a Summer+Bloom off two copies of Gemstone+Mine, ramping up five mana with a pair of Simic+Growth+Chambers and replaying his Mine that let him use another Serum+Visions.
Tariq had his own Karoo, a Golgari+Rot+Farm, and used it to play Summer+Bloom, getting six mana to play Primeval+Titan, which gained haste from Boros+Garrison and Slayers' Stronghold, finding Tolaria+West and Simic+Growth+Chamber, bouncing the Rot Farm.
Chris replayed his second Mine and played Hive+Mind, but Tariq had a Pact+of+Negation, stopping Chris' play. Tariq paid for his pact, played a Gruul+Turf bouncing Tolaria+West and attacked with his Titan, getting Selesnya+Sanctuary and Sunhome%2C+Fortress+of+the+Legion giving his Titian double strike for the win.

CVM sees what he can stir up.
Both players kept their openers and Chris led off with a Serum+Visions for the second straight game. Tariq had no play but kept a card on top of his library thanks to Temple+of+Mystery. Chris added a Ghost+Quarter to his board and played a Seal of Primordial, leading Tariq to play a Serum+Visions of his own. Tariq ended his turn with a Khalni+Garden, making a plant.
Chris had no action other than turning his Mine into a Simic+Growth+Chamber while Tariq dropped an Amulet+of+Vigor and played a Simic+Growth+Chamber, which Chris responded to by blowing up the Amulet. Tariq bounced the Temple after floating a blue and cast Azusa%2C+Lost+but+Seeking, adding the Temple back to his board and a Tolaria+West. Chris had his own Azusa, getting another Mine to play Serum+Visions then a second Growth Chamber. Chris used his Ghost+Quarter to destroy Tariq's Chamber before ending the turn.
Tariq played a second Chamber and transmuted a Tolaria+West for a Ghost+Quarter, he played to blow up one of Chris' Chambers, then passed the turn. Chris kept digging with another copy of Serum+Visions and Ancient+Stirrings, finding Gruul+Turf, which he played and then replayed his bounced Mine. Tariq was able to generate six mana after playing a Turf of his own, bouncing his Forest so he could replay it, and resolved a Primeval+Titan, getting Boros+Garrison and Slayers' Stronghold.
Chris made his own Titan on his next turn, finding Tolaria+West and Simic+Growth+Chamber, bouncing the Future+Sight land, and passed the turn after playing Sunhome. The Titans kept coming as Tariq played a second copy, but Chris kept it off the board with a Pact+of+Negation. Tariq pumped his Titan with Slayers' Stronghold and searched up Tolaria+West and his own Sunhome, and Chris took the hit, falling to 12. Chris paid for his Pact, and pushed his Titan into the red zone, getting a Growth Chamber and Radiant+Fountain, putting him to 14, and he bounced the Fountain back to his hand. Tariq fell to 15 after no blocks and Chris transmuted Tolaria+West for Selesnya+Sanctuary then gained four life from two more Fountain triggers after adding the Sanctuary to his board.
Tariq played his third Titan, resolving it and getting Tolaria+West and Simic+Growth+Chamber, returning Tolaria+West, then transmuted the Tolaria+West for Slaughter+Pact, gave his new Titan haste and attacked with both, getting Golgari+Rot+Farm, Cavern+of+Souls, Gemstone+Mine, and Simic+Growth+Chamber, bouncing the Garden and a copy of Tolaria+West. Chris fell to 4 and Tariq got another plant from the Garden. Chris drew for his turn and couldn’t find a route to victory and extended the hand.
