Finals: Jon Habel vs. Ben Stepka
Ben eyes the trophy as he readies up for Game 1 of the finals.
Jon fired things off with a turn-1 Elvish Mystic off a Stomping Ground, while Ben played a tapped Hallowed Fountain. Jon sent the Mystic in to beat for one and added a Scavenging Ooze to the board. Ben played a second land and passed. Jon sent in the team, Ben used an Azorius Charm on the Mystic, and Jon bloodrushed a Ghor-Clan Rampager on the Ooze to drop Ben to 13. Ben played a land and passed. Jon grew his Ooze and knocked Ben to 10 and replayed the Mystic. Ben added another land before passing.
Jon, still on two lands, sent in the creatures again and bloodrushed the Mystic to drop Ben to 2 and passed. Ben untapped and drew for the turn, looked at the board and scooped them up.

Both players kept seven and led with tapped lands. Jon played another Temple and made his first play an Elvish Mystic. Jon played a Mutavault and used his chance to get a Chandra, Pyromaster onto the board under counter magic. Ben played a land and passed.
Chandra’s zero got Jon a land and he added a Sylvan Caryatid to the board. Ben played a land and passed, but Jon flashed in a Boon Satyr to present a threat at end of turn. Jon sent the Satyr into attack and Ben had the Celestial Flare for it. Jon played a Ruric Thar, the Unbowed but Ben had the Dissolve. Jon ended his turn after using Chandra to ping Ben down to 18. After Ben played a land and passed, Jon found another Caryatid off Chandra’s zero, then attacked with his Mutavault to bring Ben to 16. Jon added a Scavenging Ooze to the board and passed priority, Ben ended the turn with Sphinx’s Revelation to go up to 19.
Ben did away with all the creatures with a Supreme Verdict and passed. Jon attempted to land a Stormbreath Dragon, but Ben had the Dissolve. Ben got in two damage on Chandra with his Mutavault before passing. Jon found a Boon Satyr with Chandra and played the enchantment creature. Ben drew again and found no answer for Chandra and passed.
Jon attacked Ben down to 15 with the Satyr and found a land off Chandra. Ben landed an Aetherling with plenty of backup blue mana and passed after finally finding a way to pressure Chandra. Jon used Chandra to ping the shapeshifter and Ben, then sent the Satyr and two Mutavaults at Ben. With no blocks available, Ben used an Azorius Charm on the Satyr, Jon bloodrushed a Ghor-Clan Rampager on the land to knock Ben to 6 and passed.
Ben untapped and had his unblockable creature kill Chandra, then blinked it to have it on defense. Jon pondered his options and played a Stormbreath Dragon that resolved and sent it and two Mutavaults at Ben. Ben used a Mutavault of his own and his shapeshifter to block the lands, then before damage pumped his Aetherling and used Azorius Charm to give his team life link and ended the turn at 10 life.
Ben untapped and played a Jace that netted him two lands before attacking with Aetherling to knock Jon down to 15. Ben flickered his creature and passed. Jon attacked with his dragon and Ben responded with a Celestial Flare, Jon activated monstrosity on the dragon, redirecting the damage to kill off Jace before sacrificing the dragon.
Ben sent his Aetherling and Mutavault on the offensive and pumped his shapeshifter to bring Jon down to 5. Jon passed with no play and Ben made Aetherling unlockable to send the finals to a deciding Game 3.

After openings with tapped lands again, Jon had his turn-2 Elvish Mystic. Jon attacked for one with the Mystic then played another Mystic and a land. Ben played his third land and shocked himself to have three mana opne on his opponent’s turn. The counter mana didn’t matter to Jon as he sent in a 5/5 uncoutnerable Mistcutter Hydra in knock Ben to 12. Ben shocked himseld down to 10 to cast Supreme Verdict. Jon found a new threa to deploy in Ghor-Clan Ramapger.
After Ben played his fifth land, Jon attacked Ben down to 6 and played a Domri Riade that resolved and ticked up to reveal and draw Boon Satyr.Ben used an end of turn revelation to go up to 8, then untapped used a Detention Sphere on the Domri, but Jon had the end-of-turn Unravel the Aether to get his planeswalker back.
Jon upped Domri to net a Stormbreath Dragon, but just attacked with the Rampager. Ben put a Mutavault in front of the 4/4 but Jon bestowed the Boon Satyr on the Rampager to drop Ben to 2 after the trample damage. Ben drew for the turn, looked at his hand, then extended the hand.
