Finals: Josh Ravitz vs. Festus Resendez
Festus made it this far by getting under black devotion decks on the draw and has one more between him and an Open Series trophy. Can Festus and his slew of red creatures get there or will Josh add an Open Series title to go along with his Washington State championship?
Josh adds Pack+Rat to his team.
Both kept seven and Josh kicked things off with a Temple+of+Malady while Festus had the rare Mountain-go from his deck. Josh had a Pack+Rat and Festus answered with a Burning-Tree+Emissary into a Magma+Jet to kill the Rat and scry two. Josh had another temple and fired off a Devour+Flesh to get rid of the 2/2.
Festus played his third Mountain and a Boros+Reckoner. Josh shocked himself with an Overgrown+Tomb to land a Desecration+Demon and passed. Festus attacked Josh down to 15 with the Reckoner and followed it up with a Firefist+Striker. Josh attacked Festus down to 16 with the Demon then played two copies of Pack+Rat, but Festus had a Shock for one of them.
Festus then untapped and used a Searing+Blood on the other Rat to drop Josh to 12 then attacked for five and played another Striker. Josh drew a card, did the math and scooped up his cards.

Festus fills his board with creatures from the Boros legion.
Josh went down to six on the play and Festus kept his seven with his slogan he used all throughout the elimination rounds, “I’m your Huckleberry.”
Josh hesitated but kept his six and started with an Overgrown+Tomb. Festus had a turn-1 Firedrinker+Satyr and Josh missed his second land. Festus bashed for 2 and played a Firefist+Striker while Josh whiffed again. Festus attacked for 6 after an Ash+Zealot came down. Josh found a Mutavault and passed back. Festus activated Mutavault and attacked with the team, but Josh had Doom+Blade for the Zealot to fall to 6.
