Finals: Kent Ketter vs. Eric Gray
Kent Ketter goes to his sideboard to help out his Mono-Blue Devotion matchup after a fast Game 1.
Kent bottomed a card with a temple to start things off and Eric had no play on turn 1. Kent played another tapped land and passed while Eric deployed a Tidebinder Mage. Kent used his third turn to play a Domri Rade and upped it to 4 with no reveal. Eric swung his Tidebinder Mage at the planeswalker, then cast a Nightveil Specter.
Kent plussed Domri and played a Ghor-Clan Rampager. Eric sent his Specter at Domri then played a Master of Waves for 6 elementals. With a growing army across from him, Kent ticked up Domri to find another Rampager and played it before passing with no attacks.
Eric added a Bident of Thassa to the board before swinging everything at Kent other than the Master that hit Domri for 2, dropping Kent to 8, while Eric drew a mess of cards. Eric had to discard after his Bident net him six cards on the turn.
Kent untapped, looked at his plays and knew there was no out.

After winning Game 1 in flash, Eric Gray was focused on taking home the trophy!
Kent decided to mulligan to 6 while Eric kept his seven and Kent started things off on six with a Mutavault. Eric played an Island and passed. Kent sent in his Mutavault, but Eric used Rapid Hybridization to kill the land and replaced it with a frog lizard. Eric played a Mutavault of his own and passed. Kent sent in the lizard and played a temple. Eric fired back with a turn-3 Thassa. Kent swung in for 3 more then played a Courser of Kruphix. Eric untapped and used a Domestication on the Courser and passed.
Kent untapped and played a Scavenging Ooze and passed with no attacks. Eric used another Domestication, this time on the Ooze, and swung in with Thassa to drop both players to 15. Kent took a long look at the board before using Unravel the Aether on the active God. Eric’s Courser hit a land, then he played a Tidebinder Mage to tap down the frog lizard and pushed his team into the red zone dropping Kent to 7. Kent played a Mistcutter Hydra for three and passed, leaving it back on defense.
Eric activated his two Mutavaults and sent in the team leaving Kent to decide on blocks. Kent put the Hydra in front of the Mage and Eric turned another Mutavault into a frog lizard, and Kent fell to 1. Kent drew and passed. Eric untapped, activated his three Mutavaults and attacked for the win and the title of #SCGNASH Standard Open champion!
