Finals: Nick Cowden vs. Robert Cucunato
Reanimator had been locked for the finals following a semis mirror match, but Nick had slugged it out for his chance to fight the fatties with U/W/R Delver.

Robert began with a mulligan to five while Nick sighed and shipped his way down to four cards in search of colored mana. Underground Sea for Robert and a pass, with Nick starting on Scalding Tarn. Robert played another Sea before casting Ponder to see an interesting three cards that he eventually kept in place.
Thoughtseize on Nick revealed Lightning Bolt and Swords to Plowshares, taking away Force of Will. Each player continued to make land drops until Nick made the first move, fetching Volcanic Island and casting Stoneforge Mystic for Batterskull. Robert had held his tongue on Show and Telling in Iona, a play he was now being punished for—naming white would’ve nearly locked this up.
Fetching, Robert played Lotus Petal and now cast the Show for Iona, facing the Batterskull down to a stalemate... sort of. If he blocked, Lightning Bolt would eliminate the Angel, so he blocked Stoneforge when Nick swung. Fetching, Nick grabbed another dual and cast a pair of Lightning Bolts on the Angel.
The coast as clear as it could get, Robert’s Entomb off the top was promising. Reanimate came for the Iona, naming white again and leaving Robert on 3 life. Delver of Secrets threatened to enable a lethal attack on the next turn, and Robert declined to Reanimate Stoneforge Mystic in order to keep that from happening. One and three—basically the same here, right?
When he declined it a second time, Nick was able to come through for lethal damage.

Robert kept his opener and began with Ponder, keeping the cards in place for a Brainstorm opportunity. Nick Pondered as well, sending the turn right back. Playing a fetchland, Robert used it before casting Thoughtseize. It revealed Force of Will, Daze, Delver of Secrets, Geist of Saint Traft, Swords to Plowshares, Grim Lavamancer, and Wasteland—Robert discarded the Geist and passed the turn.
Was he planning to try Reanimating it?
Nick played Wasteland and Delver before destroying Underground Sea, and Robert had the option to get back Geist when he drew Force... he took it. Nick Forced, exiling Daze, and Robert Brainstormed before Forcing right back. Delver revealed Force and flipped—the race was on!
Fetching Volcanic Island, Nick played Grim Lavamancer and ended the turn. Robert swung and passed, getting in 6 damage, but he fell to 7 on Nick’s next turn and would be attacked for lethal on the next turn due to Grim Lavamancer’s influence. He fetched, hoping for one last topdeck to save his tournament... but Griselbrand wasn’t it.
