Finals: Thomas Graves vs. Caleb Williams
Thomas is going for his third Open Series trophy, but standing in his way is his roommate, Caleb, playing Burn. Will Thomas Rabble his way to victory or can Caleb burn him out?
Thomas smiles one game from winning the Open.
Thomas had a Foundry Street Denizen to start things off and tried to buff it twice with two Burning-Tree Emissaries, but Caleb used a Shock to prevent taking 3, on his mulligan to five. Thomas played another BTE and a Mutavault into Goblin Rabblemaster, but Caleb had another Shock for it and took 4. Caleb missed his second land again and used a third Shock on the Mutavault, while taking 6 from Thomas’ swing.
Caleb used a Magma Jet and Searing Blood to kill off more of Thomas’ creatures, but Thomas kept adding little creatures to the board. Thomas got there when Caleb failed to find a third land and bashed in with a Foundry-Street Denizen and followed it up with a Rakdos Cackler – missing the final point of damage with the post-combat play, but the misstep didn’t matter when Caleb blanked on his draw step.

Caleb has his back against the wall.
Both were happy with their sevens and Thomas attacked with his Legion Loyalist after Caleb had a Sacred Foundry. Thomas attacked with the 1/1 again despite Caleb passing after playing a Mutavault and played a post-combat Firefist Striker that got hit by a Lightning Strike. Caleb traded his Mutavault for the Loyalist after Thomas played Hall of Triumph then started sending burn at Thomas’ dome.
After a Warleader’s Helix from Caleb, Thomas played Eidolon of the Great Revel. Caleb sent a Stoke the Flames at Thomas, untapped and played a Mutavault. Thomas attacked with the Eidolon and knocked Caleb to 13 after bloodrushing it twice with Rubblebelt Maakas. Caleb went to 11 to use Searing Blood on the Eidolon then down to 9 for another, but Thomas responded by going to 10 to use a Magma Spray on the Eidolon and prevent taking a ton of damage from the death of the creature. Caleb passed after playing a Satyr Firedancer.
Thomas had no play and passed. Caleb attacked with his land and Satyr knocking Thomas to 7 so Thomas used a Stoke the Flames at the end step. Thomas untapped and used two lightning Strikes to take the match.
