Finals: Tom Ross vs. Ben Friedman
Tom is looking to capitalize on his second straight Invitational Top 8 while Ben is hoping to win to send his prize money to a good cause. Can Tom and his Boss Sligh deck take down the title or will Ben hold him off with his B/W Midrange build?
Ben had Pack+Rats, but not enough lands.
Both kept seven and Tom kicked things off with a Rakdos+Cackler while Ben had just a Swamp. Tom had an Ash+Zealot to knock Ben to 16 off the rip. Ben played a Mutavault and passed the turn. Tom added a Firedrinker+Satyr to his board and attacked with his creatures, but Ben had an Ultimate+Price for the Zealot and fell to 14. Tom ended his turn with a Mountain and a Dragon+Mantle on the Loyalist.
Ben made a Pack+Rat and passed with no third land. Tom deployed an Ash+Zealot and sent in the team to knock Ben to 6 after no blocks. Ben drew for the turn and played another Pack+Rat and passed. Tom sent in everything and just like that the players were going to their sideboards.

Both kept their openers and Ben led with a Temple+of+Silence, keeping the scry. Tom had a turn-1 Firedrinker+Satyr to apply pressure. Ben added a Mutavault and passed the turn. Tom had an Ash+Zealot and attacked with both. Ben pondered before deciding to use a Devour+Flesh and Tom pitched the Satyr and Ben fell to 18.
Ben played a Swamp and passed. Tom sent in the Zealot and Ben opted to use an Ultimate+Price on it and play a third land with no other creature. Ben used the chance to slam a Desecration+Demon under no pressure and shipped the turn. Tom added a Mountain and played Rubblebelt+Maaka as a 3/3.
Ben smashed in for 6 and dropped Tom to 15 then played a Temple+of+Silence and used a Bile+Blight on the Maaka. Tom played and attacked with a Legion+Loyalist and played an Eidolon+of+the+Great+Revel and passed. Ben attacked for 6 and dropped an Obzedat%2C+Ghost+Council, which was enough for Tom to pick up his cards.

Tom gets in there with his Akroan+Crusader.

Tom played three Legion+Loyalists, taking 6 to do so, and bashed with his team. Ben drew for the turn and picked up his deck to go with it as he had seen enough.
Tom 2, Ben 1
Both kept their openers and Ben had a turn-1 Temple+of+Silence, once again. Tom opened things up with an unleashed Rakdos+Cackler. Ben played a Pack+Rat on curve and passed. Tom dropped Ash+Zealot and sent in the team to knock Ben to 16.
Ben added a Swamp to his mana base then discarded a Whip+of+Erebos to make a Rat and attack for 2. Tom used a Shock on the untapped Rat, played a Firedrinker+Satyr and bashed Ben down to 12. Ben played a Plains, considered his options, then passed with no action.
Tom added an Eidolon+of+the+Great+Revel to his side then attacked with his team. Ben blocked the Satyr with his Rat and Ben fell to 8 while Tom went to 17 after the Satyr damage. Ben went to 6 to use an Ultimate+Price on the Eidolon. Ben untapped and used a Banishing+Light on the Ash+Zealot. Tom untapped, put Madcap+Skills on the Cackler attacked and used bloodrush from a Maaka and a Titan’s Strength to take the match!
