Quarterfinals: Chris Allen vs. Nathan Keathley
Chris was looking to go infinite, so to speak, while Nathan was playing honest Magic with Jund. Would Nathan be able to "punish" his opponent or would Chris go on to Release the Ants to move on to the semifinals?
Nathan came to class and only got a Tarmogoyf.
Chris kept his seven while Nathan went to six and Chris started things off with a Preordain. Nathan had a Badlands and no play so Chris went with an Ancient Tomb and a Show and Tell that put an Omniscience into play while Nathan just got a Tarmogoyf.

Both kept their seven and Nathan opened up with a Badlands for a Thoughtseize that took a Force of Will from Chris. Chris played a Misty Rainforest and passed so Nathan fetched up a Bayou and played a Tarmogoyf. Chris opted to crack his Misty for an Island to Brainstorm at the end of the turn.
Chris untapped and added another Rainforest to his board, which he cracked for another Island and Brainstormed again looking at a fresh grip of three cards. Chris followed it up with a Ponder that he opted to shuffle and take a random draw. Nathan attacked Chris down to 15 with his Tarmogoyf and passed with no other play. Chris continued cantripping with a third copy of Brainstorm then played an Ancient Tomb and played a Show and Tell, but Nathan had a Pyroblast for it and lived to see another turn.
Nathan fetched up another Badlands then used a Wasteland to get rid of the Ancient Tomb and added Lilian of the Veil to his board, which he ticked up, then attacked with the Tarmogoyf. Chris drew and passed with no play so Nathan rolled up Liliana again and resolved another Liliana that plussed to shred Chris’ hand some more. Nathan attacked Chris to 5 with his five-power Tarmogoyf. Chris drew his card and announced they would be going to a third game.

Chris mimics his casting of Release the Ants.
Chris opened the game with a Leyline of Sanctity in play then Pondered. Nathan had a Badlands, but no play with his discard spells turned off. Chris added a Misty Rainforest to his board and passed while Nathan had another Badlands but no play once again. Chris played an Island and passed, content to set up his combo under no pressure. Nathan made his first play with a Tarmogoyf and passed.
Chris Preordained and Pondered then played an Ancient Tomb before passing. Nathan went for a Liliana of the Veil, which resolved, and Nathan made both players discard before attacking with the Tarmogoyf. Chris played Intuition at the end of the turn, but Nathan countered it with a Pyroblast. Chris drew a card and passed with no cantrip or action. Nathan made both players discard again with Liliana and attacked Chris down to 11 with his Tarmogoyf.
Chris drew again and found no action and simply passed the turn. Nathan forced each player to discard again, moving Liliana to 6 loyalty, and attacked Chris down to 7. Chris finally went for Show and Tell and got an Emrakul the Aeons Torn and Nathan put in nothing. Nathan wanted to tick down Lilian, but couldn’t with Leyline in play, so he had to rethink his plan.
Nathan added a land and made each player discard then passed, staring down a giant flying spaghetti monster. Chris drew and attacked Nathan with his Eldrazi so Nathan sacrificed everything he had other than his Tarmogoyf and Bloodstained Mire to fall to 4. Nathan attacked to knock Chris to 2 and extended the hand after he drew another Tarmogoyf.
