Quarterfinals: David Long vs. Jack Kitchen
Lands vs. Painter - a seemingly unwinnable matchup for David Long and Lands as he faces down Jack Kitchen and a deck full of Blood Moons. Who will make it to the semifinals?
Jack rides Blood Moon to victory.
David started off with a Horizon Canopy and Mox Diamond along with Exploration while Jack had a Goblin Welder. David cycled Tranquil Thicket at the end of the turn and untapped and played Life from the Loam and played a Maze of Ith and Karakas before passing. Jack slammed Blood Moon on Turn-2 and attacked with the Welder.
With nothing but Mountains, David sacrificed the Thicket he played for a basic Forest and played another Exploration before passing. Jack played an Imperial Recruiter for a Painter’s Servant and David conceded the game.

David led with an Exploration off a Forest and put a Grove of the Burnwillows into play as his second land while Jack had a Grindstone off a Mountain. David played Pithing Needle naming Grindstone and passed after playing a Thespian Stage. Jack went for a Blood Moon after playing a City of Traitors.
David opted to Gamble and lost Sphere of Resistance – most likely not the card David gambled for. Jack simply played another Blood Moon and passed. David played a Verdant Catacombs and passed. Jack slammed Jaya Ballard, Task Mage and David used a Krosan Grip on one of the Blood Moons.
Jack began using Jaya Ballard to shoot David at the end step then untapped and played Imperial Recruiter, getting a Painter’s Servant. Jack played the Painter, naming blue and attacked with the Recruiter. Jack used Jaya Ballard to destroy David’s Forest at David’s end step so David sacrificed it to Crop Rotation to get another Grove. Jack then used a Red Elemental Blast on the Needle, untapped, and milled David out of the game.
