Quick Question: What happened to Jace (in Legacy)?
What happened to Jace (in Legacy)?
William ‘Huey’ Jensen
I think everything is too fast. Everyone is playing one mana three power creatures, some of which are untargetable. It’s obviously one of the most powerful cards of all time, but Legacy is too fast. It’s still the best card in the control-on-control matchup.
Mental Misstep got banned and the format sped up again.
He’s making a bit of a comeback in the U/W Miracles deck, but RUG and Merfolk make it kind of hostile; Spell Pierce, Daze and Wasteland are tough.
The format sped up. Turn four Jace just isn’t good enough anymore when people are playing turn two Emrakuls.
I don’t know. I think control decks need to answer so many things, with Show and Tell and Reanimator and all of the aggro decks. It’s tough to play a reactive game.
He clicked his heels together three times and went back to Ravnica.
Four mana in a field of Griselbrand is nearly unplayable. I still think it’s good against the decks that it’s difficult to resolve against, but it’s not a make or break card like it used to be.
That’s a good question. The blue decks are more aggro with small control elements, so the more expensive threats aren’t as good. It was in Owen (Turtenwald)’s sideboard (at GP Atlanta) for the Reanimator mirror, so it’s still around.
