Round 15: Kent Ketter vs. Adam Fronsee
Both players enter Round 15 at 11-3 and a win means a chance to play for Top 8. Will Kent and G/B Dragons get to battle for a Top 8 berth or can Adam and his Heroes live to fight another day?

Kent, on the play, started the action on Turn 2 with a Thoughtseize after both players led with tapped lands. Kent took a Seeker of the Way, Adam's only threat, and passed after adding a Plains to his board. Adam had a Lagonna-Band Trailblazer on his next turn to go with a Windswept Heath while Kent missed his third land and played a face-up Den Protector.
Adam fetched a Plains and scryed a card away with a Temple of Plenty before suiting up the Trailblazer with an Aqueous Form to get in for one. Kent found an Opulent Palace, attacked for two and shipped the turn back. Adam added an Ordeal of Thassa to his Trailblazer and attacked, scrying away a card, and drawing two to knock Kent to 14. Adam added a Windswept Heath to his board and passed. Kent got in for two more with the Protector and played a Foul-Tongue Invocation, revealing Dragonlord Silumgar. Adam lost his creature and fetched a Plains at the end of the turn.
Adam began rebuilding with a Favored Hoplite and pumped it with a Defiant Strike to draw a card. Adam finished his turn by playing a Battlewise Hoplite and a Mana Confluence. Kent tapped out for a Courser of Kruphix and went to 19 after playing an Opulent Palace from his hand. Adam kept going wide with a Hero of Iroas and put an Ordeal of Thassa on the Favored Hoplite, which he attacked with and drew two cards from. Kent offered no blocks and went to 15.
Kent took a draw but his top card didn't offer up a land so he passed the turn with four mana up. Adam fetched an Island in his upkeep, drew, and targeted his Battlewise Hoplite with a Defiant Strike. He sent both Hoplites into the red zone leading Kent to line up his blocks. Kent put the Den Protector on the Favored Hoplite and offered non on the Battlewise Hoplite. Adam used a Dromoka's Command to make Kent sacrifice an enchantment and put a +1+1 on the Battlewise Hoplite. Kent lose his Courser and went for a Hero's Downfall on the Favored Hoplite but Adam responded with Ajani's Presence, keeping all of his creatures alive and dropping Kent to 10.Kent was able to kill the Battlewise Hoplite with a one-mana Murderous Cut on the end step, untapped, and deployed a Deathmist Raptor.
Adam started his next turn with a Gods Willing on the Hero, naming green, then fired off a Dromoka's Command, choosing to have his Favored Hoplite to grow and fight the Raptor, letting him attack for lethal.

Both players once again began with tapped lands and Kent got the action started on the second turn with a Satyr Wayfinder, missing on finding a land. Adam tapped out for a Battlewise Hoplite, which Kent used as an opportunity to kill it with Murderous Cut, delving away two cards. Kent ended his turn by attacking for one with the Wayfinder.
Adam fetched a Plains and deployed a Lagonna-Band Trailblazer and a Battlewise Hoplite. Kent opened his next turn with a Temple of Malady and an Ultimate Price on the Trailblazer. Adam began his next sequence with a Gods Willing to grow the Hoplite then put an Ordeal of Thassa on it, attacked, drew two cards, and dropped Kent to 15. Kent simply made a land drop and passed the turn, pausing Adam in his upkeep to play Foul-Tongue Invocation, revealing Dragonlord Dromoka.
Adam lost his creature but was able to rebuild with a Treasure Cruise into a Favored Hoplite. Kent played a Deathmist Raptor and an Opulent Palace for the turn and Adam used a Defiant Strike on his hoplite at the end of the turn. Adam untapped, attacked with his Hoplite and Kent threw his Wayfinder away to chump. Adam found another Battlewise Hoplite and passed back.
Kent found his next land and tapped out for Dragonlord Dromoka, leading Adam to respond by targeting his Battlewise Hoplite with Defiant Strike and Ajani's Presence before letting it resolve. Adam refueled with a three-mana Treasure Cruise, looking for ways to get past the Dragonlord. Adam then used Ajani's presence on his Battlewise Hoplite before playing Dromoka' Command growing his Battlewise Hoplite and having it fight Dromoka. Kent lost his Dragonlord and went to 20 after all the combat.
Kent wasted no time slamming another Dragonlord Dromoka on his next turn. Adam had no attacks and played a Hero of Iroas before passing so Kent could rumble with Dromoka, going up to 25. Kent added a Sylvan Caryatid to his board and passed back. Adam went to 9 to fetch a Plains then used Gods Willing on the Battlewise Hoplite and attacked for seven, dropping Kent 18. Kent used Heaven of the Spirit Dragon to get back a Dragonlord Atarka at the end of the turn.
Kent untapped and slammed the Dragonlord, killing the Favored Hoplite then attacked with Dromoka. Adam looked at his next card but had no way out and grabbed his sideboard.

Adam opened the third game with a Temple of Enlightenment while Kent, on a mulligan to six, started with a Temple of Malady. Adam had Battlewise Hoplite on the second turn and Kent matched with a two-drop of his own, Sylvan Caryatid. Adam suited up his Hoplite with Ordeal of Thassa, knocking Kent to 16.
Kent played a Satyr Wayfinder, finding a Windswept Heath that he cracked immediately for a Forest. Kent tapped out for a second Caryatid and passed the turn. Adam put another Ordeal of Thassa on the Hoplite and attacked, drawing four cards, and Kent chumped with his Wayfinder. Adam went to 18 to fetch a Plains and added a Lagonna-Band Trailblazer to his board before ending his turn. Kent played a Deathmist Raptor and passed with a Llanowar Wastes untapped.
Adam fetched an Island on his next turn and put another Ordeal of Thassa on his Hoplite. Adam moved to combat and drew two more cards and targeted his Hoplite with Gods Willing, giving it protection from green. Kent fell to 10 and Adam left a card on top with his Temple of Enlightenment before passing. Kent tried to kill the Trailblazer with Ultimate Price, but Adam had Ajani's Presence to save it.
Adam flashed one and Kent extended the hand.
