Round 5: Kent Ketter vs. Logan Mize
Kent Ketter brought an innovative build of Reanimator to the table in a bid to catch his opponents off guard, while Logan Mize hoped to continue his winning ways with Omni-Tell.
Turn 1 Sire of Isanity? Kent says sure.
Logan was on the play, but it was Kent who had the first action of the game—He stopped Logan before play began and put a Gemstone Cavern into play from his hand with a Luck counter on it.
Logan began his turn with Island into Preordain, and Kent responded with an Entomb thanks to his Gemstone Caverns, putting Sire of Insanity into his graveyard. The Preordain Resolved, and Logan saw an Emrakul and a land on top of his library. His hand contained Force if Will but no other blue card, and given the new information Kent has presented, he had to suspect some reanimation was in store. Logan sent both to the bottom, looking for a blue card on top, and found Overmaster. He played and sacrificed a Lotus Petal to cast it, and cycled into Ponder. Feeling safe enough, he passed the turn.
Kent played Underground Sea and cast Exhume. Logan pitched Ponder to cast Force of Will, and Kent showed his last two cards: Force of Will and the Daze to pitch to it. Logan could do nothing as the Sire of Insanity entered play. Logan was no handless, making his combo of Show and Tell + a card in hand impossible to assemble, so he picked up his cards.

Logan's thoughts are being seized.
Kent was on the draw again, but this time he was without the Gemstone Caverns to steal the initiative. Both players had cantrips for their first turns—Logan with a Preordain, and Kent with a Ponder. Logan Brainstormed on his second turn, but didn’t find a second land, and passed. Kent, for his part, Brainstormed then cracked a fetchland for a Volcanic Island and cast Careful Study, pitching some excess lands. Logan tried Preordain on his next turn, and successfully found a Misty Rainforest, passing without cracking it.
Kent played a Thoughtseize to see what was going on over there, and Logan revealed Force of Will, Show and Tell, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, and a pair of Burning Wishes. He took the Force of Will, then cast Entomb for Sire of Insanity followed by Reanimate to put it into play.
Once again Logan found himself without a hand, but he gamely played it out, looking for Burning Wish into Void Snare off the top. Three turns later, he hadn’t found it, and the Sire of Insanity came screaming across the board for the win.
