Round 6: Richard Centanni vs. Josh Magly
Richard Centanni is showing and telling his opponents what's up.
Sitting on matching 4-1 records in the penultimate round, Josh and Richard had good shots to make the Top 8, but they needed a critical win here. Unfortunately for Josh he had to start with a pair of mulligans after losing the die roll.
Richard led with two Ancient+Tombs but no spells—a curious start for one with so much mana available. Josh dug for some land with Brainstorm and found a Wasteland to keep Richard's mana under control, revealing himself to be BUG with Tropical Island and Underground+Sea leading to Tarmogoyf.
On the other side of the table, Richard went big with Volcanic+Island and Sneak+Attack, forcing the deadly enchantment through Force of Will with Misdirection. He sucked up a Tarmogoyf hit and shrugged as a second copy of the efficient beater landed. He showed why he didn't care when he fetched up a second red source and cheated both Emrakul%2C+the+Aeons+Torn and Progenitus into play, annihilating Josh's board and life total.
Richard 1, Josh 0
Richard was fine taking some hits as he worked through Josh's defenses, drawing both Daze and Force of Will, the remainder of Josh's hand. Tarmogoyf knocked him to 7 and Ancient+Tomb put him to 5, but a second Sneak+Attack resolved and Emrakul%2C+the+Aeons+Torn wiped everything from Josh's side and another Emrakul ended it a few turns later.
