Semifinals: Bryan Scholl vs. James Hames
Bryan brings Mardu to the table while James has Abzan Midrange. Which proven archetype will move on to the finals?
James considers his plays.
Bryan had a Turn-2 Seeker+of+the+Way on the play while James’ first play was a Thoughtseize on hiss second turn, taking an Ashcloud+Phoenix. James used another Thoughtseize on Turn 3 to take another Phoenix and fell to 12 on Bryan’s next turn after he played Brimaz%2C+King+of+Oreskos. James found a Sylvan+Caryatid to soak up some damage, but didn’t have a third land.
Bryan played Hordeling+Outburst and attacked in as James had to discard on his next turn after failing to find land No. 3. James knew of the hand of burn from Bryan so he picked up his cards.

James ramped up with a Sylvan+Caryatid into Siege+Rhino while all Bryan could do was send a Lightning+Strike at James. Bryan gets his thoughts seized.
Bryan, on a mulligan to six, started things with a Nomad+Outpost while James began the game at 17 with a Thoughtseize off a Llanowar+Wastes. James took a Brimaz%2C+King+of+Oreskos and passed. Bryan deployed a Seeker+of+the+Way as James had his own two-drop, Sylvan+Caryatid. Bryan sent in the Seeker and got in for 2, but didn’t have a third land.
James slammed a Siege+Rhino and shipped the turn. Bryan sent in his Seeker again, but failed to find land and shipped the turn. James attacked with his Rhino and used a Banishing+Light on the Seeker. Bryan finally found his land, a Battlefield+Forge and decided to Read+the+Bones, falling to 10. James knocked Bryan to 6 with his Rhino, played a Courser+of+Kruphix, and dropped a land before passing.
Bryan chained the Rhino the Rocks and passed the turn. James revealed a Rhino the Courser after cracking a fetch land, attacked with his Courser, and played his Rhino to drop Bryan to 1. Bryan took a look at his top card and extended the hand.
