Semifinals: Dustin Biggers vs. Phillip Braverman
We got ourselves a Miracles mirror match! Would Phillip Braverman or Dustin Biggers move on to the finals to play a Delver deck for the title?
Dustin had a turn-1 Sensei’s Divining Top and Phillip attempted to Force+of+Will pitching Brainstorm, but Dustin had a Force+of+Will, pitching Jace, the Mindsculptor. Phillip played an Island and passed. Dustin Brainstormed on his turn then passed and Phillip resolved a Counterbalance. Dustin went for a Counterbalance of his own and it made it through as Phillip revealed a land.
Both players made land drops a couple of times and Phillip landed a Snapcaster+Mage and went for a Brainstorm, but Dustin had one of his own on top to counter it. Phillip sent in the 2/1 to drop Dustin to 17 then resolved a Jace, the Mindsculptor and fate sealed himself, sending a card to the bottom. Dustin used a Vendilion+Clique at end of turn and made Phillip replace a Swords+to+Plowshares with a random card.
Dustin knocked Jace down to 2 loyalty and passed. Phillip attacked again with his Mage and fate sealed himself again, leaving the card on top. Dustin knocked Jace down to one with his Clique and passed. Phillip miracled an Entreat+the+Angels, with the miracle on the stack, Dustin had another Clique to get the Entreat out of his hand to dodge the wave of angels. Phillip fate sealed Dustin, attacked for two and passed.
Dustin killed off the Jace and passed. Phillip knocked Dustin to 11 with his 2/1 then resolved a second copy of Jace. Phillip got rid of the top card and passed. Dustin used a Swords+to+Plowshares on the Snapcaster+Mage, then went to play his Top again so Phillip cracked a fetch land and revealed a land to miss countering the top. Phillip fate sealed himself again and kept the card then shipped the turn.
Dustin dropped Jace to one loyalty with the Clique then passed after playing a land. Phillip used Jace to Brainstorm then made a land drop and resolved a second coy of Counterbalance. Dustin went to kill off the Jace, but Phillip had a Clique of his own he flashed in that resolved after many top and fetch land into top activations and left Dustin’s card in his hand (a Brainstorm), then they traded Cliques.
Phillip drew for the turn and miracled an Entreat+the+Angels and put three 4/4 flying angels into play. He then Brainstormed with Jace and passed. Dustin topped after playing a fetch land then cracked it and topped again, Brainstormed and topped once more before scooping up his cards.

Phillip shows a top off his Counterbalance reveal.
Both players kept seven and Dustin had the turn-1 Top. Phillip had his own as well. Dustin went for a Counterbalance and it resolved. All Phillip had was a fetch land for his second turn, which he cracked at the end of Dustin’s turn, when Dustin just added a Plains to his board.
Phillip went for a Disenchant on Dustin’s Counterbalance, but Dustin topped and found another Counterbalance to counter it, then topped again and drew for the turn and passed after making a land drop. After more topping and making land drops, Phillip went for a Venser%2C+Shaper+Savant at the end of Dustin’s turn, but Dustin paid five mana for his Force+of+Will to counter it.
Phillip resolved a Batterskull on his next turn and shipped the turn. Dustin went land-go after topping, of course. Phillip got in with the germ and passed. Dustin played a Rest+in+Peace and shipped the turn. Phillip knocked Dustin down to 11 with the germ and passed again with a ton of open mana. Dustin dropped to 10 to fetch up a land and get a fresh look at his top three cards.
Dustin drew and showed his miracle Terminus and paid the mana and Phillip responded with good old Counterspell so Dustin topped but didn’t find an answer and exiled his Terminus. Dustin passed with no further action. Phillip attempted a Counterbalance and Dustin used a Vendilion+Clique in response and let Phillip keep a hand of Brainstorm, Stoneforge Mystic and Pyroblast. The enchantment resolved and Phillip attacked with his germ again. A sequence of plays involving Brainstorms, tops, and Counterbalances allowed an opening for Phillip to destroy Dustin’s Counterbalance with a Pyroblast at the end of Phillip’s turn.
Dustin attacked for three in the air with his Clique then tapped out for an Entreat for two angels that resolved. Dustin reassembled the Counter-Top combo, then allowed a trade with a germ and an angel in combat then ended his turn with a SFM that didn’t search up any equipment. Dustin attacked for seven and passed after playing a land.
Phillip equipped the Batterskull to his SFM and sent it in for lethal.
