Semifinals: Kevin Jones vs. Andrew Boswell
Two players known for playing their signature decks meet in the semifinals. Will Kevin advance with his trusty Jeskai Aggro deck or can Andrew upset the top seed with Abzan Aggro?
Kevin led with a Temple of Triumph as Andrew hit the board first with a Warden of the First Tree. Kevin fetched up an Island and passed, leading Andy to play a Cave of Koilos and attack. When Andrew tried to pump the Warden Kevin killed it with a Lightning Strike. Kevin untapped and played a Mantis Rider, taking a point of damage from his Battlefield Forge before knocking Andrew to 16.
Andrew could only play a tapped Sandsteppe Citadel as Kevin bashed for three in the air and played a Temple of Epiphany. Andrew played another tapped land and a Brimaz, King of Oreskos. Kevin simply attacked in the air again and played a land before passing. Andrew sent Brimaz into the red zone and got a token. Before damage, Andrew went for Dromoka's Command, putting a counter on Brimaz and fought the Rider. Kevin responded with a Lighting Strike making the creatures trade in damage.
Kevin passed after playing a land and Andrew had no play for his next turn, leading Kevin to Dig Through Time. Kevin untapped and played a Morph creature before passing the turn. Andrew sent a card away with a Temple of Plenty and attempted to play Herald of Torment, but Kevin used Ojutai's Command to counter it and a draw a card. Kevin flipped his Morph at the end step, revealing Stratus Dancer, untapped, attacked for three, and sent two Lightning Strikes at Andrew to take the first game.

Both players led with tapped lands and passed after adding pain lands to their boards on the second turn. Andrew made the first play a Brimaz, going to 19 in the process. Kevin played a Temple of Epiphany and used Glare of Heresy to exile the Brimaz. Andrew fired another shot with Siege Rhino, bringing himself back to 20 after his mana base damage. Kevin played a land and passed as Andrew got in for four with the Rhino. Andrew played post-combat Warden of the First Tree, but Kevin used Ojutai's Command to counter it and draw a card.
Kevin passed after playing another Temple and took four more from the Rhino, dropping him to 9. Andrew played another threat, this time a second Brimaz and shipped the turn. Kevin went to 8 to fetch an Island and played Elspeth, Sun's Champion, making three soldiers. Andrew used a Dromoka's Command at the end step to grow his Rhino and kill a token, untapped, and attacked Kevin with both creatures. Kevin put his tokens in front of the cats, falling to 3, and Andrew finished him off with a post-combat Siege Rhino.

Both players opened with tapped lands for a second game in a row and Andrew was able to land a Fleecemane Lion on his second turn that survived Kevin's third turn when he played a face-up Stratus Dancer and a Temple of Triumph. Andrew bashed for three and followed it up with Brimaz.
Kevin made three Goblins with Hordeling Outburst and passed, missing his fourth land drop but managed to kill Brimaz with Stoke the Flames. Andrew hit for three more and landed a Siege Rhino to keep the pressure on.
Kevin had Valorous Stance for the Rhino and attacked for four, leaving one Goblin on defense. Andrew fired off a Thoughtseize, going to 15, and took a Mantis Rider from Kevin's grip. Andrew attacked and Kevin chumped with the Lion, leading Andrew to play Rakshasa Deathdealer and another Sandsteppe Citadel.
Kevin played a Soulfire Grand Master and pointed a freshly drawn Stoke the Flames at the Deathdealer, but Andrew used a Gods Willing to keep his creature around and prevent Kevin from gaining any life. Kevin opted to keep his Dancer back and passed the turn. Andrew sent his team into the red zone and Kevin offered no blocks. Andrew decided to use Dromoka's Command to grow his Lion and fight the Grand Master, leaving Kevin at 7. Andrew ended his turn with a Warden of the Frist Tree.
Kevin found a Temple of Triumph and passed after playing a Morph, allowing Andrew to level up his Warden. Andrew played the Plains he drew for the turn and attacked with his team. Kevin put his Dancer and a token in front of the Warden and a token on the Deathdealer, prompting Andrew to monstrous his Lion and leave Kevin at 2.
Kevin played a Goblin Rabblemaster and got in for one. Andrew attacked with his team and Kevin chumped both, leaving Andrew to play a Warden. Kevin looked at his next card and had to extend the hand.
