Semifinals: Robbie Cordell vs. Nick Veccie
A Delver mirror in the semifinals pitted two similar lists against one another, but with a big difference in sideboarding. Robbie came prepared for other Delver decks, and has been besting them all day—Nick's sideboard is stronger in other matchups, but with a weak spot Robbie might exploit.
Robbie Cordell has been taking down Delver all day.
Taking 2 life to Gitaxian Probe, Robbie spotted Ponder, Probe, Gut Shot, Moorland Haunt, and two Islands plus Glacial Fortress. Turn 1 Delver of Secrets followed, and he nodded as Nick immediately Probed on his turn. Two Snapcasters, Invisible Stalker, Sword of War and Peace, and Geist of Saint Traft in Robbie's hand; no second land or cantrip in sight, however.
Nick Pondered via Seachrome Coast then cast Gut Shot to kill the Delver. Fortress for Robbie and Stalker on turn 2, prompting a sigh from Nick. He Pondered again on his next turn, deliberating over the contents before keeping it. He played another Seachrome Coast and then Delver of Secrets.
Nick met his demise at the business end of Sword of War and Peace.
Robbie topdecked Moorland Haunt as his third land and resolved Sword of War and Peace, attacking for 1 point—that was pretty close to the game. Nick missed his flip and Snapcaster Maged Ponder, leaving them in place once again. He attacked, and passed.
A hit from the Sword Stalker dropped him to 7 life as he revealed Ponder to Delver on his next turn. Nick had to dump his hand, and fast, but Ponder wasn't conducive to that goal; he was stuck. He cast it anyway, shuffling the deck, and couldn't cast enough cards to stay alive.

Island and Ponder from Nick, while Robbie began with Island and Delver of Secrets. Turn 2 Invisible Stalker from Nick threatened to give Robbie a taste of his own medicine, but when Robbie missed his Delver flip and attacked, Nick appeared to consider making the trade! He took 1, and then nodded as Robbie cast Ponder post-combat, and then another one… shuffling the deck.
Nick had another Ponder on turn 3, which was good news for Robbie. Nick did follow his Ponder with Delver of Secrets, however. Robbie couldn't flip his Delver and played a third land before resolving Geist of Saint Traft and passing.
Revealing Revoke Existence, Nick flipped his Delver and attacked Robbie for 4 damage, putting him to 15. He added a second Stalker to the board, and passed the turn with 2 mana available. Attacking with Geist, Robbie got 6 damage on Nick before casting Phantasmal Image in an attempt to copy Insectile Aberration, but Mana Leak snagged it.
Attacking Robbie for 5, Nick was now engaged in a very narrow race that he was actually losing due to Robbie's Delver—even unflipped, he'd be dead before he could attack Robbie for lethal, sitting on 13 life. Robbie revealed Gitaxian Probe to flip his Delver and thought over what Nick could have up his sleeve. It's not likely he was racing while dead… he probably had some equipment. Robbie tapped out for Sword of War and Peace plus an equip, and sent in 14 damage.
Nick had no response, and died.
