Semifinals: Thomas Ma vs Brandon Chreptyk
Tom Ma gets down to business in the semis.
Mana+Leak saved Tom’s Delver from the free spell, but he fell to 17 from the Insectile Aberration’s attack as the life totals evened up. Runechanter’s Pike gave him the ability to ratchet up the damage in a hurry.
Tom fought back with Sword+of+War+and+Peace, but even that wasn’t enough to let him to keep up with the massive damage from the Runechanter’s Pike as Thought+Scours filled Brandon’s graveyard and Tom came up just three points short before Insectile+Aberration put an end to the game.

Brandon Chreptyk gives Tom Ma the death stare.
There would be no mulligans in the match, but the second game took on a much different feel from the first. Things got started with a lot of lands until Brandon’s Invisible+Stalker prompted a Mana+Leak from Tom, but a second copy arrived safely and was soon joined by Delver+of+Secrets.
Vapor+Snag took care of the 1/1 for the time being, but Tom was already on defense and Moorland+Haunt threatened to put him even further behind. He fought back with a Snapcaster+Mage to pick off a spirit token with the Vapor+Snag, but he had to let the Delver+of+Secrets back in, sighing as it flipped and picked up Runechanter’s Pike while Tom was trying to get busy with Geist+of+Saint+Traft and Honor+of+the+Pure.
Revoke+Existence wiped out the enchantment and let him double block Geist+of+Saint+Traft with Snapcaster+Mage and Invisible+Stalker after Tom played another Honor+of+the+Pure. That left Tom with just a Snapcaster+Mage of his own and he could only watch as Brandon’s Insectile+Aberration put the boots to his life total, soaring over to connect for huge chunks of damage as Tom flooded out.
