Friday, July 3rd - I missed my article last Monday. But that article was almost ghost-written by my boss, Pete – and it would have read like this:
The Ferrett, webmaster and long-time writer for this site, died on Tuesday evening due to complications arising from a burst appendix… |

Friday, July 3rd - Given that there are always a few hiccups in the spoilers leading up to the prerelease, I thought it might be handy to look at M10 broadly - from a 5000-foot level, as it were - and read what the tea leaves tell us regarding what the good folk at Wizards have in mind for the game as they reboot the Core set. |

Thursday, July 2nd - Everyone seems to know me as the Faeries guy, and, in all fairness, for good reason. Spellstutter Sprite has carried me to two Pro Tours and won me countless matches online. However, what’s far lesser known than my alignment with the winged menace is my affiliation with the Reveillark collective. |

Thursday, July 2nd - My official job title at Star City Games is Events Coordinator. This typically involves promoting our events, staffing them, and then traveling throughout the Southeast to run them. Although I've never actually counted, it's a safe bet that I run some thirty to forty events every year, everything from Prereleases to PTQs. |

Yawgmoth’s Whimsy #282 - Expected Value of Draft Queues Peter Jahn

|
Thursday, July 2nd - Years ago, Wizards changed the prize payout for drafts. At one time, the drafts paid 5-3-2-2 packs. Later, that was cut to 4-3-2-2, and the 8-4 queues introduced. Some Magic players have never forgiven Wizards for this change, and continue to attack Wizards, and the payout, in the forums and elsewhere whenever possible. |

Next Level Magic by Patrick 'The Innovator' Chapin - On Sale Now! Pete Hoefling
Buy Magic: the Gathering from StarCityGames.com! |
Next Level Magic is now available, and check out what some have had to say so far!
"I bought it right when I got home from work and when it arrived I read the entire thing from cover to cover. My bottom line review: it is definitely worth it. It is really well organized and really inspirational. It made me want to be a better player and showed me dozens of different ways to improve as well. The book is hard to explain because in some ways it lays the foundation and fills in holes I had in my understanding of the game and Chapin's perspective, but it's also like a Master's course and goes into advanced topics that he hasn't written about online. - Zen Viking, on MTGSalvation
"I am very impressed with this book. A thumping good read and very informative, recommending it to every Magic player, competitive or not, that I know. Well done!" - Elliot Raff, via Facebook
"Add that to the resume - good stuff!" - Mark LePine, via Facebook
"I am very impressed with the book so far! Great job Pat!" - Richard Terry, via Facebook |
