It was all down to one final match between Zack Wilson's Aggro Loam deck and David Sharfman's Goblin build. Winning the roll 20-2 David got to start on the play and boy was his start powerful as he cast first-turn Goblin Lackey. Wilson's deck which lacked spot removal stumbled early on mana and paid the price. The first hit of the Lackey landed a Goblin Matron which fetched up Goblin Ringleader. The second hit dropped the Ringleader which found two Goblin Lackeys Goblin Ringleader and Goblin Warchief. To add insult to injury David also had Earwig Squad to prowl onto the battlefield Jester's Capping Zack in the process.
"Well deck we're in a tight spot" Wilson offered up clearly not pleased that by the end of the third turn he was facing Lackey Ringleader Matron and Earwig Squad his opponent's hand filled with goodies he was just waiting to unload. Wilson tapped Mox Diamond and cast Crop Rotation to hunt up enough mana to cast Seismic Assault. With no remaining lands in his hand however he wasn't going to be able to use the enchantment immediately. He ended his turn after casting a Chalice of the Void for 0.
Sharfman didn't let up with his team crashing in to drop Zack to 8 dead in a single turn if he couldn't come up with something big. He cast Life from the Loam getting two lands with which he could take out some of his opponent's Goblins but Sharfman had enough to swing for lethal anyway stealing the first game.

"I hate that hand that's fundamentally decent enough to make you think 'Well it might just get there…'" said Zack Wilson as he pondered his opening hand for the second game. Ultimately he decided to send it back for six. He was fine with those but didn't have a solution for David's first-turn Goblin Lackey. The 1/1 put a Goblin Ringleader onto the battlefield after its first attack but Zack had The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale to slow his opponent down slightly.
Tormod's Crypt for David made things even tougher for Wilson who cast a Mox Diamond to build up his manabase. Hoping to slow his opponent's onslaught the Aggro Loam player cast Countryside Crusher. The 3/3 didn't last long though as Sharfman had a Warren Weirding to take it out. That cleared the way for his Goblin Lackey which plopped Goblin Warchief to the battlefield. Zack used Burning Wish to call forth a Devastating Dreams but didn't immediately cast the sorcery due to the fact he only had one card in hand.
Sharfman attacked for a third time with Goblin Lackey this time also bashing in with his Warchief as well. The 1/1 allowed him to play an Earwig Squad for free and the 5/3 Squad was safe from Devastating Dreams until Zack had a third card in his hand. But he didn't have time to wait for that point instead pulling the trigger on a 2-point Dreams. When he couldn't find a solution to the Earwig Squad his Aggro Loam deck found itself out of the match at the hands of David's Goblin horde.
