Final Decklist:
Pick 2: I think Briarhorn may be a little better than Nameless Inversion, but I'd rather stay mono-color for now. This is a theory many drafters don't agree on, but besides that, Nameless Inversion is also very good.
Pick 3: Weed Strangle over Drowner of Secrets, following the same idea of staying one color, but also because I committed to Black with Nameless Inversion over Briarhorn so I don't want to pass Weed Strangle at this point. If you picked Nameless Inversion Pick 2, you have to pick Weed Strangle here.
Pick 5: I could still stay Mono-Black, as it's clear that the person to my left is not drafting Black. However, Aethersnipe is very good, and it shouldn't be 5th or 6th pick, so I think I have to take it. Besides, Hornet Harasser won't be seen as a signal that Black is open by the persons who receive it.
I ended the first Booster with many top Black cards and a touch of Blue, the highlight of which was Aethersnipe.
Pick 32: I don't know if I've made the correct pick here. I thought about it a lot and still haven't reached a 100% certain conclusion.
Round 1 I played against a Green/Red deck. Game 1 was close: we traded many cards up until a point where we're both at eight. He played Wren's Run Packmaster and passed with two mana open. I had two Aethersnipe and Thorntooth Witch. My hand was Boggart Harbinger. I attacked with everything, he blocked one Aethersnipe and dropped to one life. I played Boggart Harbinger, and he responded by playing Lash Out on it, If he won the clash, he'd get me at 5 as he just needs to attack with Packmaster. He lost the clash, but drew a Glarewielder. Still, my play of putting him at one life seemed good, since I would eventually be overrun by the Packmaster alone.
Game 2 I mulliganed once and he mulliganed to five. I started with Boggart Harbinger getting Nameless Inversion, then Dreamspoiler Witches. The Witches trigger killed two of his creatures, putting him even lower on card advantage and mana, since both of them produced mana: Leaf Glider and Smokebraider. Game 3 we both played normally, but I got the impression that his deck didn't deliver anything.
Round 2 I played against Blue/White Merfolk. Game 1 was the usual... Drowner, Summon the School, Sygg. Game 2 I mulliganed, and my draws by the turn I died were two spells, one Skeletal Changeling, and nine lands.
See you tomorrow!
