Pick 1: The three best cards in the pack are all Elves, and the next best is far below the best one. I've been accused of forcing Elves too much, but I don't think one should be picking Consuming Bonfire or Stonybrook Angler over Nath of the Gilt-Leaf.
Pick 2: If this was Pick 1, with no other picks as an influence, I would've picked Cloudgoat Ranger since it's more powerful than the commons we have here. This was me not being too confident, not holding onto Green/Black much because of Nath, so I did not pick Warren PIlferers. I took the best card - Cloudgoat Ranger - to see where the draft was heading.
Pick 3: Go White with Wizened Cenn, or Elvish Harbinger? I like Harbinger better because it allows me to go Green/White splash Nath, beyond the obvious Green/Black route.
Pick 6 and Pick 9 showed me I was in a great position, and the second booster confirmed this even further.
I lost my Internet connection momentarily so I missed Pick 31. I did not see which cards were available. I goofgrabbed a random Nectar Faerie.
Round 1 I played versus Kithkin.
Game 1 I won the die roll. He played a Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile, and conceded the turn after. I made turn 2 Leaf-Glider, turn 5 Jagged Scar Archers, turn 4 Nath of the Gilt-Leaf, turn 5 Incremental Growth.
Game 2 he won in the air. He had Broken Ambitions for my Leaf Glider, then Avian Changeling, Thoughtweft Trio, Plover Knights, and Sentinels of Glen Elendra. I had Nath and I was holding Briarhorn, so the Trio was controlled, but not the fliers.
Game 3 I won attacking twice with a Forest mutated by Elvish Branchbender, and both times he was 11/11, thanks to Lys Alana Huntmaster and Nath of the Gilt-Leaf. I did make one mistake... I should've started attacking one turn earlier with the big forest, as I could always chump-block Thoughtweft Trio with one of my tokens. One time he chumpblocked. The other time it went through and took half of his life. By now he was down to zero cards in hand thanks to Nath, so I made end of turn Gilt-Leaf Ambush. He left Surge of Thoughtweft on top. I used Gilt-Leaf Seer and put something bigger on top to win the clash, so that Fistful of Force would give trample to the 12/12 Forest he chumpblocked.
Round 2 I played against Blue/White.
Game 1 I got a Jagged-Scar Archers which killed his Pestermite and Avian Changeling. Meanwhile, he had a very large Veteran of the Depths, but Archers took care of it too, because I played Gilt-Leaf Ambush during attack phase to make it big enough to block and kill it, and my opponent conceded having lost too many of his creatures.
Game 2 he evoked Mulldrifter on turn 4 looking for a land. He didn't miss a land drop in the next turns, but only found a Plains on turn 6. I had Lys Alana Huntmaster in play plus some more Elves, and I was holding Oblivion Ring and Incremental Growth and Epic Proportions, so I figured I should be winning this one. I played Nath's Elite, and he tapped out to play two guys. I attacked, he triple blocked, I played Epic Proportions, and he conceded.
See you tomorrow!
