The first three picks weren't that hard for me. Pick 4 was where I took longer deliberating. No Blue card, nothing shining in the other colors. The playables were Kithkin Greatheart, Woodland Changeling, Lowland Oaf, Footbottom Feast, Colfenor's Plans, and Squeaking Pie Sneak. I dismissed the White and Green picks first, as they are just vanilla 2/2 creatures and they don't combine well with my first three picks. I went for Squeaking Pie Sneak since there are some Goblins to reveal in Blue/Black - Hornet Harasser, Warren Pilferers, Nameless Inversion - but Footbottom Feast or Lowland Oaf could be the pick as well.

Black did not come, and I ended the first booster in Blue, probably Blue/Red with some Giants, though I had a pair of Green cards just in case. In the second booster I settled myself firmly into Red, half Giants half Elementals.

Pick 31 was tough as well. Giant Harbinger would be great in my deck, but I was worried my mana curve was too high with 2 Consuming Bonfire plus some Elementals, so I took Smokebraider. I regretted the pick only because I got two more afterwards.

Round 1 I played against Blue/White Merfolk1. Game 1 I have to race because he played six Merfolk early. Four had Islandwalk, and one was Aquitects to give Islandwalk to the final Merfolk. I almost succeeded in winning the race, but he had a counterspell for my Wings of Velis Vel which was going to act as a Giant Growth for the final damage.

Game 2 I sided out all the Blue cards except Mulldrifter, and all Islands, and I sided into a Mono-Red deck casting Mulldrifter off the Smokebraider. I mulliganed a one-land hand with two Smokebraiders, and kept a six card hand roughly the same: one land, only one Smokebraider, and spells. I drew my second land on turn 4, then misclicked and played Fire-Belly Changeling instead. The next turn I still didn't draw a land, played Smokebraider. By now he had two creatures in play already... and when he played Cryptic Command, I just conceded.
