This is one of my Pro Tour dream scenarios... first-picking a Mulldrifter or a Blue rare, and being passed a Mulldrifter. Unlike other drafts, Blue kept coming, and I quickly settled into Blue/Black Faeries. Not because I love the archetype, but because those Pestermites and Peppersmokes kept coming. The draft was very easy. I don't think I had a single hard decision, and things just happened by themselves.

Round 1 I played against Samy Younis with his Red/Black Goblins/Elementals deck.

Game 1 he won the die roll, which turned out to be important for one reason: I missed a land drop, and that forced me to try to race. I played Pestermites on turns 3, 4, and 5, tapping his single Swamp each time, but he had a creature on turn 3 before me, and was attacking first. If I'd made my fourth land drop, I would've played totally differently... Hornet Harasser most likely, or Sentinels of Glen Elendra. I almost got there with triple Pestermite, as I played a Marsh Flitter to hold the ground when I reached four mana, but Tar Pitcher plus two Mudbutton Torchrunners finished me.

Game 2 was very strange for my side for two reasons. I'm not sure on many of the small plays I made. At the time I played them they seemed to make sense with the information I had, but they turned out to be pretty bad. Anyway, his turn 3 was Smokebraider and Flamekin Harbinger for Hostility, so I spent the whole game trying to survive. Faeries are really awful at blocking. I still think that a few different plays could've held the game a little longer, though I probably still lose to such an excellent start... no one knows for sure.
