Pick 2: I didn’t want to take a Merfolk because of the Summon I passed, and I think the Avian Changeling is better than committing to Red with the Tarfire.

Pick 4: Without a pick for my WW deck I took the most powerful splashable card.

Pack 2 was fairly miserable. I knew the guy behind me would be playing some White because he was in Merfolk, but I figured I’d get something better than a bunch of four-drops.

Pick 36: I’m really not sure about this pick. Looking back I think the Bombardier was a better fit for my deck since it’s so aggressive, but I always have a hard time turning down a good removal spell.

Pick 37: Redeem the Lost may have been better here, but I just wanted as many Kithkin as I could find with my two Zephyrnauts and Pack’s Disdain.

I think this is the best Kithkin deck I’ve drafted, and it finally gave me a chance to try something I’ve been thinking about – Kithkin with Quill-Slinger Boggart main.

Unfortunately I lost the first round to a very good Merfolk deck. Game 1 he had turn 2 Judge, turn 3 Schoolmaster, turn 4 Summon the School, and Merrow Reejerey on turn 6… and I won the game. I had Zephyrnauts on turns 3 and 4, and Oblivion Ring for his Judge. I hit the Kinship a couple of times and finished him off with Swell of Courage. Game 2 he had Judge and Summon again, and I couldn’t find a Black source for the Pack’s Disdain that would’ve let me race. Game 3 I was crushing him, until he once again had Judge and Summon. This time I found the Black source after a couple of turns, and would’ve won the race if he didn’t draw Swell of Courage on his last turn… the only card in the format that could win him the game.

My opponent’s deck was very good, but this loss was still very frustrating, since the Judge/Summon combo was his only way to beat me, he drew it all three games, and I wasn’t able to stop it one game due to mana problems.
