AtJ on Temporary Hold
First of all, to all of you who sent an email to me since last Thursday, August 4th, I'm sorry I haven't replied yet. There is a really good and simple reason why I have not; I haven't received any emails. We've come across a problem where the email that is sent in to Ask the Judge is not getting to me. We've been working on the problem for a few days now and unfortunately we have not had any success.
So if you sent me an email since last Thursday, it's not that I've been ignoring you, or shirking my duties. Also, until we get our email relaying system back up and running, don't resend your question. Once I do start receiving email again and I've waded through the inevitable backlog of questions, I'll make an announcement in an article and on the boards. If at that point you still haven't received a reply to a question that you've sent since last Thursday, then resend your question.
To compound matters, even if this situation is corrected soon, I'm leaving today to go to Baltimore for US Nationals and will be there until next Monday. This means that I won't be able to read all of the questions, reply, and compile these answers into articles until next Monday afternoon at the earliest (When in Baltimore, it's not a matter of having access to these emails, but of having the time to respond to them). Last week I did make an effort to work ahead create a buffer of articles for when I'd be gone. In fact, the Ask the Judge article that appeared on Monday was finished last Wednesday. However once I stopped receiving rules questions, my ability to do anything came to a screeching halt.
So there you have it, my greatest weakness revealed: I need you guys to send questions to me in order for me to do anything. Once again, sorry about the situation and we are working on it. Hopefully all will be back to normal relatively soon.
