Rules Tip of the Day: When a creature is removed from combat, either by an effect or regeneration, it is no longer an attacking or blocking creature. However, if combat damage has already been assigned, then this damage will be dealt, even though this creature has been removed from combat.
Q: Can I play Galvanic Arc on my opponent's creature and choose to shoot this same creature with the three damage?
A: Yes, you can choose to target the same creature with the Galvanic Arc spell and the coming into play ability of the Galvanic Arc as well.
Q: Can you say how comes into play abilities are handled with Warp World? For example, with Soul Warden, or the new lands that tap for two mana, or Galvanic Arc, which causes 3 damage when it comes into play?
A: All of the abilities listed will trigger during the resolution of Warp World. In fact, Soul Warden's ability will trigger once for each other creature that comes into play at the same time it does. None of these abilities will go on the stack until after Warp World has completely resolved, and they will go on the stack in APNAP order. in other words, those controlled by the active player will go on the stack first in whatever order he wants, followed by those controlled by the non-active player in whatever order he wants. Because all of these triggered abilities go on the stack at one time after Warp World has completely resolved, it is possible to chose to put the triggered ability from the Galvanic Arc on the stack before the triggered abilities of other abilities that technically triggered before it.
Q: I block an attacking creature with my Stinkweed Imp. After combat damage has been assigned I sacrifice the Imp for some reason. Will the attacking creature be destroyed by Stinkweed Imp's triggered ability?
A: No. That ability will only trigger if the Imp is in play when combat damage is dealt. It does nor matter that combat damage has already been assigned.
Q: I'm not quite sure how Uba Mask works. Does my opponent have priority before me or how do you decide which of the players that get to play the spell ?
A: Uba Mask's ability is not as far reaching as you assume. Each player can only play cards that have been removed from the game from their deck. You can not play any card that have been removed from the game from any other player's deck.
Q: Having played Neverending Torment and removing now cards from my opponent's library from the game, does my opponent get to see those cards, or can I remove them face down?
A: Unless specified, cards that are removed from the game are face up and any player can see what they are. You are not given the option, as the controller of the effect that removes these cards, as to whether or not that should be face up or down. Neverending Torment does not tell you to remove these cards from the game face down, so your opponent can see the cards that have been taken from his library.
Q: If multiple copies of Pattern of Rebirth are on one creature would you get multiple creatures if it goes to the graveyard? I wasn't totally sure, because they resolve at the same time.
A: Yes, the ability of each Pattern of Rebirth will trigger when this doubly enchanted creature goes to the graveyard. These abilities will trigger at the same time but they go on the stack independently and resolve separately, not at the same time.
Q: I have a 7/7 black trampler with double strike. I attack with it and a)it gets blocked by a 3/3, and b)it gets blocked by a 3/3 with protection from black. How much damage can I assign to my opponent in a) and b)?
A: In example a) - 11 and in b) - 8 In the first example you can assign up to 4 points to the defending player in the first strike combat damage step and and all seven to the defending player in the normal combat damage step.
In the second example you can assign up to 4 points of damage to the defending player in each combat damage step. In this example the blocking creature is not destroyed in the first strike combat damage step as it has an appropriate protection ability. It does not matter that this blocking creature had damage assigned to it in the first strike combat damage step, as this damage was prevented you'll need still need to assign what would be lethal damage in the normal combat damage step.
