Rules Tip of the Day: Abilities that trigger when a creature deals combat damage will only trigger if the ability still exists when combat damage is dealt. If combat damage is put on the stack, and the permanent with this ability leaves play before this damage is dealt, then the ability will not trigger.
Q: Does this work? I control a tapped Time Vault and then play and resolve a Flame Fusillade. Can I tap the Time Vault to deal a point of damage to something, untap the Time Vault to skip my next turn in order to tap it again and again?
A: Yes this combo does work. There is nothing to prevent you from using Time Vault's ability to untap it over and over again. In theory the turns you would have skipped will not take place at all as the game will end before then.
Q: What happens if someone Naturalizes my Eye of the Storm in response to an instant or sorcery spell I play?
A: The Naturalize will be removed from the game by Eye of the Storm and the player who played the Naturalize will be given the option of playing a copy of Naturalize and any other spell that had been removed from the game by Eye of the Storm. Assuming that this player chooses to target the Eye of the Storm with this Naturalize copy, then the Eyd of the Storm will be destroyed. Eventually the triggered ability of Eye of the Storm that you played will resolve. When it does the spell you played that triggered Eye of the Storm will be removed from the game. You will also get to play a copy of this spell and all of the other cards that have been removed from the game by this Eye of the Storm. This is because when this triggered ability resolves, the game will use last known information regarding what instant and sorcery cards have been removed from the game by this source.
Q: Can I cycle a card while under the effects of an epic spell?
A: Yes, cycling a card is playing an activated ability, it is not playing a spell.
Q: What happens if an epic card is removed from the game or shuffled into the deck? Does the effect continue?
A: Yes, removing a resolved epic card from whatever zone it is in will not end the Epic effect. Once the spell has resolved, the card that represented that spell has no connection with the effect.
Q: Can you use a Remove Soul when a card is turned into a creature (ex. Treetop Village) ?
A: No, Remove Soul can only counter creature spells, it can not do anything to spells and abilities that turn permanents into creatures.
Q: I have a Ronin Warclub and Pandemonium in play, then play a token generator (let's say Scatter the Seeds), can I stack the coming into play abilities so that they alternate? Basically, can I break up the Pandemonium and Ronin Warclub triggered abilities for each token?
A: Yes, what you want to do does work. When Scatter the Seeds resolves the ability of your Ronin Warclub will trigger three times as will the ability of Pandemonium. You can choose to stagger these triggered abilities so that token that when each Pandemonium triggered ability resolves the creature that caused that trigger will be equipped with the Ronin Warclub, thus allowing you to deal more damage to the creature or player that you targeted,
Q: Can I get back some of the cards I discarded to the Nostalgic Dreams with it? For example, if I drop a Mind's Desire, can I pick up the same Mind's Desire? This is relevant when making a copy of my nostalgic Dreams with Twincast and I want to play that Mind's Desire later.
A: No, this does not work. You choose all targets for a spell before you pay any costs, so the cards you discard are not in your graveyard when you need to choose the targets of Nostalgic Dreams.
Q: Does Booby Trap target an opponent? I want to be able to sneak by an Ivory Mask?
A: No. with the current Oracle text of Booby Trap you choose an opponent as Booby Trap comes into play and this player is affected by Booby Trap's two abilities. Neither the choice or Booby Trap's abilities target.
Q: Let's say I have a Teeka's Dragon in play, enchanted by Lure along with Earthbind (to make it easier to block). If I attack, and my opponent has 5 creatures available to block it, rampage triggers to make the Dragon 21/21. After that resolves, while it's still my own declare blockers step, shouldn't I be able to play Fog Patch, which causes rampage to trigger again, counting the same five blockers, and making the Dragon a 37/37 creature?
A: No The Rampage ability will not trigger again. Ram-age only triggers when a creature become blocked. In this example Teeka's Dragon is already blocked, playing Fog Patch or Dazzling Beauty will not cause it to become blocked again. Fog Patch does use the word "become" but that does not mean that this creature can become blocked twice.
Q: I have a couple of modular creatures out in play with an irrelavant number of +1/+1 counters on them. My opponent brings out a Spike Cannibal. In response to the Spike Cannibal's ability to remove all +1/+1 counters from all creatures, I tap to do 1 point of damage with a Viridian Longbow equipped creature. Does the point of damage hit before or after he obtains all the +1/+1 counters? If it hits before the counters get taken, will he die immediately or will the influx of counters save him? If not, does his ability still suck all the counters from all the creatures or do they remain?
A: After the ability of the Viridign Longbow resolves, this 1/1 Spike Cannibal will go to the graveyard, as it received lethal damage. This will happen before the Cannibal manages to steal thee counters form other creatures in play. Then when the Spike Cannibal's coming into play triggered ability resolves nothing will happen, as the counters in play can not be moved.

Today we hit the end of Control Week. Last year, my control deck ended up as one of the strongest decks in the States metagames and I'm going to add another...
