Rules Tip of the Day: When you play a spell, regardless of what zone this card or copy of a card comes from, it will go on the stack. If this spell is represented by a card, then it will go to your graveyard when it resolves, unless there is some other effect (like Flashback) that makes this card go elsewhere.
Q: What happens to "comes into play" effects with Copy Enchantment? For example, what if Copy Enchantment targeted a Galvanic Arc enchantment already in play? Would Copy Enchantment get the comes-into-play effect as well, and deal three damage to a creature?
A: Yes, this Copy Enchantment will come into play as an exact copy of Galvanic Arc, so the ability of this copy will trigger.
Q: My question involves Sunforger and Arcane spells. If you search for and play an Arcane spell, can you splice onto that spell?
A: Yes, you can search for an Arcane spell with Sunforger's ability and splice on the text of cards in your hand onto this spell. Keep in mind that you will not pay the mana cost of the "base" Arcane spell, but you will have to pay the Splice costs.
Q: I was wondering if the combo of Pariah's Shield and Light of Sanction will work. Damage is dealt to me, and then the Shield redirects it to the equipped creature. So is the new source the Shield?
A: Pariah's Shield does not change the source of the damage that it redirects. Unless you are actually the controller of this source of this damage, then Light of Sanction will not prevent this damage.
Q: If I imprint Muddle the Mixture on Isochron Scepter, can I Transmute? What about Cycling and other Abilities?
A: No. Isochron Scepter's ability allows you to play copies of the imprinted card; you cannot use the activated abilities of this copy.
Q: My Grizzly Bear is equipped with Kusari-Gama. I attack, and my opponent blocks with a pair of Hill Giants. Will each of those creatures take the damage from blocking and an additional point of damage because of Kusari-Gama's effect, or will they just take the damage from blocking?
A: Yes, they will both receive an extra point of damage, as long as you assign one point of damage to each of these blocking creatures. If you do, Kusari-Gama's ability will trigger twice. When each of these triggered ability resolves, each creature controlled by this player (other than the one that was damaged and triggered Kusari-Gama's ability) will receive one point of damage.
Q: A friend of mine says that if he uses Astral Slide to remove his Petradon from play, he doesn't put the lands he removed back in play. How is that possible? Its still leaving play, right?
A: You are correct. When Petradon leaves play via Astral Slide's ability its leaves-play triggered ability will trigger. It does not matter that this card leaves play temporarily; the ability will still trigger.
Q: If there are multiple copies Promise of Bunrei in play and one creature goes to the graveyard, can all the copies be sacrificed?
A: Yes. In fact, you will have to sacrifice them all. When a creature controlled by the controller of these enchantments goes to the graveyard, the abilities of each Promise of Bunrei will trigger. When each of these triggered abilities resolves you sacrifice the appropriate Promise of Bunrei.
Q: I have in play Horobi, Death's Wail and a Fire Covenant in hand. My opponent controls 5 creatures. Can I play Fire Covenant, choose to pay zero life and still target these five creatures, in order to destroy them with Horobi's ability?
A: That does not work. In order to target something with Fire Covenant, you must be able to assign at least one damage to it. So to name five targets, you must pay five life. And as you only have 1 life, you can't pay anything without losing the game.
Q: In a free for all game, I play Master Wacraft during my opponent Ryan's turn, and tell him to attack with everything. I control Collective Restraint, and he only has mana for one creature (of his choice, I'm sure). Must the rest attack elsewhere, or can he leave them back? Do I have any say in what happens?
A: In this example, creatures controlled by Ryan must attack if able. However, as this is a free-for-all multiplayer game, Ryan still gets to choose who these creatures will attack. From your description, he can choose to have up to one of these creatures attack you, and he will have to choose to have the remainder attack other players in the game. The fact that you have Collective Restraints does not mean he can attempt to attack you and fail, thereby allowing these creatures to not attack.
