Rules Tip of the Day: A creature with shroud cannot be targeted at all, by any player. Some creatures, like Troll Ascetic, have abilities that allow them to be targeted only by their controller, but that is not how shroud works.
Q: If you cast Glamerdye targeting Riverfall Mimic and change the word "red" to "blue", does the Mimic trigger any time you play a blue spell?
A: Yes. If one of the color names in the text of a Mimic creature is changed so that both color words are the same, then the Mimic's ability will trigger any time a spell of that one color is played.
Q: I have a Cache Raiders in play, and I play a Biting Tether, enchanting a 1/1 belonging to my opponent. After I stack the triggers in the upkeep, I return the Biting Tether to my hand using the ability from the Cache Raiders. Does the 1/1 still die?
A: Yes. When Biting Tether's Ability resolves, if it is no longer in play, the game will use last-known information about what Biting Tether was attached to to put a -1/-1 counter on that creature.
Q: My opponent has Deathbringer Liege in play, and he plays Edge of the Divinity. Does he tap and destroy my creature, or does my creature need to be tapped first in order for him to destroy it?
A: When he plays this Edge of Divinity, both of Deathbringer Liege's abilities will trigger. As the controller of these two abilities, he can choose the order that they go on the stack. To destroy a targeted creature he needs to put the 'destroy' ability on the stack first, so it resolves last, and the 'tap' ability on the stack last, so it resolves first. This works because the 'destroy' triggered ability does not have a targeting restriction other than that it targets a creature. Whether or not it is tapped when the trigger goes on the stack does not matter; what matters is that it is tapped when the triggered ability resolves.
Q: I play an Armored Ascension on Figure of Destiny, and I control four plains, so it is a 5/5. Will paying 1 to turn Figure of Destiny into a 2/2 overide the Armored Ascension and make it 2/2, or will it add up, making it a 6/6?
A: The +X/+X effect from Armored Ascension is from a static ability. When calculating the power and toughness of a creature, you apply all effects that set power and toughness before you apply the effects from static abilities that modify P/T without setting it. This means that using Figure of Destiny's ability in this example will make it 6/6, not 2/2.
Q: Does Seething Song target you as a player? Can you copy it as much as you want with Mirror Sheen?
A: No. Seething Song does not target at all, so you cannot use Mirror Sheen to make copies of it. It puts mana in the mana pool of its controller, but does not target that player.
Q: If I have Colfenor's Plans in play, and one of the removed cards is a land, can I Retrace Oona's Grace, discarding the removed land?
A: No. You can only play the cards that you have removed from the game with Colfenor's Plans. You do not treat them as if they are in your hand. This means that you cannot discard them.
Q: If I evoke Mulldrifter or Spitebellows, can my opponent play Snakeform in response to block the triggered abilities?
A: Mulldrifter no, Spitebellows yes. Mulldrifter's ability triggers when it comes into play; by the time your opponent can play anything, this ability will have triggered. Spitebellows' ability triggers when it leaves play. If it leaves play without any abilities, then there is nothing to trigger.
Q: If creatures come into play simultaneously, such as with Hunting Triad, does Cream of the Crop allow me to look at one card, put it on the bottom of my deck, then another, then another? Or does the ability only trigger once?
A: Cream of the Crop will trigger for each of these three creatures, but that is not how Cream of the Crop works. All three creatures put into play via Hunting Triad have a power of one. Cream of the Crop has you look at X cards, where X is the creature's power, and put one card on top of your library and the rest on the bottom. This would work, if an effect were to put multiple creatures with power of two or more into play under your control at the same time.
Q: If I play Replenish while I have Natural Emergence and Exploration in my graveyard, can I return the Exploration to my hand as part of Natural Emergence's requirement, or would I need to have an enchantment in play before I played Replenish?
A: What you want to do works. When Natural Emergence enters play, its ability will trigger and go on the stack. It is when this triggered ability resolves that you return a red or green enchantment to your hand. At this point, the Exploration will be in play, provided it was not destroyed, and you will be able to return it to your hand.
