MTGCast #125 - Shiny Shrapnel Blasts, Sealed PTQ's and Star City Games!
"You read it somewhere else, but you heard it here first!"
This Week in Magic
The December FNM promo is a very cool Shrapnel Blast. Rumors abound regarding the States / Champs participation and top 8 foil promos, currently believed that Dauntless Dourbark will be the participation promo and Hypnotic Specter with original Doug Shuler art for top 8 finishers. It has also been confirmed that we will see the return of different promos for prerelease and release tournaments with Conflux. We have also heard from the internet and an MTGCast listener that WoTC administration has heard the angry feedback from gamers regarding the new prereleases and lack of drafts. MTGVault.com, a popular deck sharing site, was victim of hackers, but may be returning in 2009!
Gavin also gives us the low-down on the latest BDM article discussing some of the upcoming Pro-Tour Berlin players (which includes Gavin) and his Shards sealed PTQ this weekend.
User Corner
Eduardo from Mexico gives us a positive view point on the new prerelease structure. Some interesting historical info and upcoming changes for MTGO. And Filip writes in about the thread of players not receiving their latest Magic Player Rewards cards (which includes textless Cryptic Commands)
