Pack 1 pick 1:
My Pick:
I've faced this card twice so far, and it was always a nightmare. You have to draw first for it to be a bomb though, so I'm not willing to go very aggro.
Pack 1 pick 2:
My Pick:
Surprisingly, in this format, is about as good as . As the real deal creatures usually don’t come until turn 5, you don’t even have to restrain from playing guys in the first turns to keep the mana open, will always be useful.
Pack 1 pick 3:
My Pick:
Were there really two cards better than this in the pack? Well, at least I guess white is open!
Pack 1 pick 4:
My Pick:
is the best card here, but if my deck can feature either the 0/1 or plus , I’ll go with the latter.
Pack 1 pick 5:
My Pick:
There are not that many removal spells for UW mages in that format. I’m glad I already have one, or two if we count Remove Soul.
Pack 1 pick 6:
My Pick:
Pack 1 pick 7:
My Pick:
Pretty good in this format, as most key creatures are legends.

Yes, I know, being materialistic is bad. The right pick for the deck obviously is Lu Meng.
Pack 2 pick 2:

Pack 2 pick 3:
My Pick:
is pretty good with , but Remove Soul is still a better card.
Pack 2 pick 4:
My Pick:
could help splash it.

A little more annoying than I think.

Pack 2 pick 7:
My Pick:
I’d take the 2/4 if I didn’t already have 3.
Pack 2 pick 8:
My Pick:
Another pretty good card I could possibly splash with . Let’s now see if I can get or to support a splash.
Pack 2 pick 9:
My Pick:
I like pingers less and less in this format. They usually don’t kill a thing if they don’t come by pair.

I like better, but my I have more 4 mana creatures than any other cost.
Pack 3 pick 3:

Once again the Minotaur is another four drop. Also, the 1/2 can benefit from my guy.

I decided to run and over Mountain and to give a chance to the 0/3, which I’ve never seen in action before.
In the first round my RB opponent mulligans, and has the funny idea to play s on my vigilant Shu General. This “second mulligan,” along with a good draw on my side, leaves him not much of a chance. The following game is also a win, but it shouldn’t have been, as he has made repeated mistakes again.
In round 2 I’m facing a WB control deck. I choose to draw and play Land Tax on turn 7, when he has one land more than me. Four turns later, I’ve no land left in the deck, and a good control presence on the board. Until he draws and deals me the 11 damage he needs. In the second game I stay barely outside of his annoying artifact range, so I choose to board in , but in the third, once again, the expensive artifact gives him the win on its own, as and a pair of s open the path.
Until Friday...
