I'm writing to both addresses since both the Meridian Magic and Star City websites have tributes to"Daddy Jim" Bailey on their website. On the Star City website they have an address to send donations to Christy Bailey's Care and College Fund, and I've decided to run the next Premier Event I have (a Grand Prix Trial for Minneapolis) to generate money for that fund. After paying WotC's tournament fees, and the Tournament Organizer's fees, I'm planning on donating the rest of the entry fees to this fund in the name of the Black Rose Tournament Series and it's players.

I'm not sure if other organizers and coordinators would follow my lead in this, but hopefully some will. I'd like to see the people come together to help part of the Magic Community which has been damaged by the loss of"A True Southern Gentleman" to borrow Rick Ralsten's description.

I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Bailey twice, once at a tournament in Las Vegas two years ago and again at this years Tournament Organizers Conference this last March. I know a lot of people have been sending condolences and praise, and I felt that it would be good to not only pay those condolences and well wishes, but to actively do something to try and help the situation.

The introduction of the "Magic With Meaning" program will hopefully benefit other worthy charities in the future.

I'm hoping that other organizers and coordinators will follow our lead to help out during this time of loss.
