Q: Say I have a Crimson Acolyte in play, and my opponent has a Coalition Honor Guard in play. He's at five life; I have seven land in play, and it's my turn. I have a Ghitu Fire in hand that will win me the match... If I can get it past the Coalition Honor Guard. If I give the Honor Guard protection from Red from the Acolyte, can my Ghitu Fire then target something other than the Guard, since the pro-Red means it's untargetable by red effects? Do I even need to bother? That is, will the Guard grab all effects that target creature/player, or just effects that target creatures?
A: Giving the Honor Guard Protection from Red is the right thing to do. If there's a Flagbearer that's a legal target, you must target it. If it's not, then you don't have to worry about it. Good play!
Q: I was playing in a local draft, and my opponent played Marsh Crocodile, emptying his hand in the process. He proceeds to say that he will put the comes-into-play effects on the stack, and that he chooses to put the"discard a card" effect on last. Net result: He discards no card, then returns the croc to his hand. I drop a card. He then does it again, this time leaving the croc for beatings and returning a dork. I drop another card. My question: Is this legal? Can the croc be played if one of its comes-into-play effects cannot occur?
Thanks,
Mongoose
A: Mongoose,
Completely legal. He controls both coming-into-play triggers, so he can stack them the way he wants.

Q: If I play a Rushing River with kicker, can it be Misdirected - and if it can, will it bounce back two permanents or one?
A: It cannot. Rushing River with Kicker has more than one target, making it not a valid target for Misdirection.
