I'll be honest , I'm not the best magic player in the world but I know
that what wizards are doing with the eighth edition is wrong! I remember
when I used to play Warhammer.I'd spend oven 200 300$
on an army and the books and all the stuff and then they would change the
rules. Although magic is nothing near as exspensive as warhammer, magic has
become very costley especallily if you've just started playing.I am one of
those players that has just started playing and I know that you need 4 of
every key card that you need to make a deck. For example...PAINLANDS!!!I just
got my four of all the painlands and now I found out that there takeing them
out in the eighth edition. They are also removeing other key cards like
Counterspell,Courupt,Force Spike,Duress and so on.In a trade for the
painlands there putting in the slow problematic comes into play tapped
invasion lands.
But I should stop conplaining.Maybe Mirodin will have some broken cards
to replace those cards that are going out.Maybe not. But I think they went
to the extream ,I mean COUTERSPELL!!!
Belive it or not but other things have crossed my mind other than
pointlessly whining and moaning about
the eighth edition.I started to think about what kind of decks will there be
without Odessy,Torment and Jugement.I'm gonna miss you mongrel.
My first deck is a new and improved astoglide deck thats a bit more
agrressive. This deck is obviously for when the oddessy block goes out.I'll
explain the cards that I put in.
x4Exalted angel
x3wrath of god
x4Slice and dice
x4Renewed faith
x4Lightning rift
x4Akromas blessing
x3External dragon
x4Decre of justice
x2Stoic champion
x3Gempalm avenger
x4Forgoten cave
x4Secluded stepp
x1City of brass
x9Plains
x7Mountain
X4 EXALTED ANGEL
This card is great it winns games alone. If they can't get rid of it the game
is over. This card is good against R/G beats because you'r wrath of goding
the table and then slaming down the exalted angel and gaining too much life
for R/G to handle. In m y piont of view this deck needs four of these.
X3 WRATH OF GOD
A way to clear the board.A game saver.Creature removal.Point made.
X4 SLICE AND DICE
Again removal. It has an ability when it is cycled. But it isn't so good when
you have soldier's sitting on the table. The goal of this deck is to control
the board until you have enoungh mana to cycle a decre of justice and cycle
a gempalm avenger or drop Exalted angel.Over all okay.
X4 RENEWED FAITH
It's cheap,it cycles it gains you life.Over all good card.
X0 ASTRAL SLIDE
Without Tereoh's Faithful there really is no point to play this card. It's
slow and it's normally a waist of
time when you put it on the board. The only reason for putting this card in
is to phase out your oponents
creature to stop it from attaking,as well as removing face down Exalted
Angel from the game and it coming back un morphed. Not good enough in my book
there is enough removal in the deck It's easyer to just un morph the Exalted
angel with mana.
X4 LIGHTING RIFT
Once again removal.Kills morphs. If you cycle enough cards you might even
burn your oponent out,but not likley.
X4 AKROMA'S BLESSING
In general a cheep cycler ,the deck needs cheep cyclers to peg his oponent
with Lightning rift.
X3 External Dragon
A powerfu flying creature late game, it cycles and it comes back to cycle
again and again. It also thins out your deck.
X4 DECRE OF JUSTICE
If you have enough mana, this card can be a game winner, four of these no
questions asked.
X2 STOIC CHAMPION
It gets big fast and that is usally want you want, cycle a Gempalm Avenger
its a 5/5 first striker.
I like this card.
X3 GEMPALM AVENGER
It cycles, it pumps up soldiers by surprise.Good if your trying to win a
race.
X1 CITY OF BRASS
I originally had 3 of these guys in here but I heard dying is bad but I hate
getting land screwed. Not much of a help.I also run Claws of wirewood in the
sideboard.
This deck is good against burn, agrro, numours tribal decks,beatdown(R/G)
but we'll see untill Mirrodin.
Catch ya all later.
