Bring'n vigilante justice on the metagame. When the system is corrupted, it's time for a lone vigilante to take down the corruptors. Sure, the pushers and junkies are pack'n well-tuned dueling pistols - but you're toting a cannon of hate!
Def Wish its all the answer you'll need, pal, to deal with those punk Tier 1 decks. You'll make Charles Bronson proud, slap'n those punks around. U/G and Mono Black are set up for some payback with Def Wish bringing the firepower. A deck that can Chanier's Edict fourteen times? It's a fully-automatic creature junkie hate machinegun, supporting a maindeck removal crew of Stalkers, Butchers and Braids, with Balthor standing ready for the reload.
Don't worry about the Black Control-pushin freaks; Def Wish brought the heavy explosives to take back the home turf. Mono-black neighborhood control tactics don't work too well when you bring down the house they live in, and land denial is a Def Wish specialty. Main deck Braids and Rancid Earth bring the pain, and a timely Burning Wish will seal the deal. Nothin' beats watching the shockwave from a resolved Epicenter. You'll get your payback watch'n the smug look fall off a mono-black pusherman sitting on a pile of dead Swamps and Coffers. Timely Wishing for Buried Alive brings in your lone gunman support from Ichorid, or more ammo for Balthor. This approaches works pretty much vs. all control decks no matter what they're pushin'.

Basic"lock n load" Sideboard options: (its all about deal'n out justice to the pushers and junkies)
U/G, G/W, and WW - Creature Junkies
IN: 1 Slithery Stalker, 3 Mutilate, 1 Grotesque Hybrid,
OUT: 4 Rancid Earth, 1 Skeletal Scrying
The Junkie's Fear: This deck will often lead to your opponent playing out multiple threats to overwhelm your Edicts and creature killers; this makes Mutilate the MVP.
Control Black, Wake, and Confinement - Control Pushers
IN: 3 Mesmeric Fiend, 1 Cabal Therapy
OUT: 3 Slithery Stalker, 1 Faceless Butcher
The Pusher's Fear: Braids is huge; use early threats to draw out removal if necessary, or use Balthor to fetch her from the graveyard.
Legal Troubles? White-collar crime is tough to bring to justice. WW/u Punisher decks neutralize Braids with Battle Screech - and main deck Envelop, Glory, and Prismatic Strands will make the going tough for you.
Is it the right time? While the deck is decent versus many decks, it performs best in a metagame where control is beginning to dominate as a reaction to a heavy creature environment. Burning Wish allows the deck to react and tweak towards anti-creature junkie or anti-control pusher on the fly; hence, the deck enjoys a solid first game advantage vs. many matchups. The sideboard simply piles on the hate in the desired direction.
Take back your hood, and be the vigilante!
