This is what happens when you blindly move into the mono Red deck with no real reason to do so. Someone convinced me to take Burn Trail desipte my desire to take Silkbind Faerie first. I then took Blue cards because there simply weren't any Red ones. Once the Blue cards stopped coming I started taking the crappy Red ones again. It seemed like I might be able to find a deck in pack 2, but I ended up a few cards short of where I'd like to be going into pack 3.
I played against a good mono Green deck round 1. We got into a creature stall game 1, and Cinder Pyromancer had nearly gotten him all the way from 20 when he played an 11/11 Primalcrux. If it was merely an 8/8 I would've been able to race it, but at 11/11 it left me one turn short. Game 2 I flooded, but nearly raced with the Pyromancer. I had a long time to draw either Traitor's Roar, Flame Jab, or Flame Javelin, but I ended up having to chump with the Pyromancer while my hand filled with Mountains.
It felt like I got a little unlucky in these games, but it also felt like this deck had no business winning anything.
Until tomorrow...
