I could've splashed the Creeper by running Obelisk of Esper along with the two Tri-Lands. Instead I decided to run Obelisk of Naya to enable cycling on Resounding Thunder and also Trample on Thorn-Thrash Viashino. I also ran Onyx Goblet in place of the Creeper because I felt it'd be strong with Iguanars and Stingers.
Round 1 I played against Bant. Game 1 he missed a fourth land drop and I tore him up with Blood Cultist, Hissing Iguanar and removal. Connoisseur for Scourge Devil finished him off. Game 2 was a close race between his fliers and my removal and he ripped Stoic Angel on one of the last turns to deal the final three damage before I killed him. Game 3 I played a Stinger and then Skeletonized his Stoic Angel on turn 4. After that I made two Iguanars and another pinger and although his Kiss of the Amesha made the game drag on a bit, I eventually combo killed him by sacrificing my entire side to Thorn-Thrash Viashino.
Round 2 was against 5c Obelisk Control. Game 1 I played pretty terribly and forgot that I couldn't sacrifice Corpse Connoisseur to Archdemon of Unx. I've had Archdemon so many times and almost never had it in play with only one other guy that I totally forgot about the Zombie restriction on non-token cards. Anyway, what happened was that I played Archdemon with Connoisseur as my only other guy. My opponent also apparently didn't realize what happened because he attacked his Ridge Rannet into my soon-to-be-dead Archdemon. Luckily for him, he was at 11 life, and I forgot about the Zombie restriction and I re-punted by not blocking. Game 2 was a blowout when he played turn 2 Necrogenesis and then killed literally everything I played, and finished me with tokens and Vein Drinker.
Until Monday...
