Live Coverage of StarCityGames.com Open Series Indianapolis featuring the Invitational
Congratulations to Pat Cox the Indianapolis Invitational champion! Piloting RUG in Standard and his trusty Wild Nacatls in Legacy Pat triumphed over all comers in both formats to take down the trophy—and the $10000 check the comes with it! After qualifying in Atlanta Pat decided to attend the Invitational before flying to Nagoya for the Pro Tour and it paid dividends. Sunday saw Thomas Graves crowned the Legacy Open champ piloting the NO RUG deck that has been popularized in Legacy by Reid Duke and Todd Anderson among others. That deck is rapidly becoming an important part of the Legacy metagame and Thomas Graves carved through a trio of Legacy ringers en route to clinching the title. Matt Landstrom ran it back in the Indianapolis Standard Open piloting R/B Vampires to his second championship and silencing a number of Caw-Blade supporters along the way. Exarch-Twin has continued to put up strong numbers showing that Standard may be blossoming into something more as we look to Magic 2012. Join us in Denver this weekend for the next Open Weekend hosted on SCGLive by Patrick Chapin and Joey Pasco!
