Having had bad luck with Red cards in the last draft, I decided in pack 1 that I didn't want to go that route this time. Even though Sulfurous Blast is the best card, sending another removal spell could be bad signalling. As you can see it worked out okay, with me ending up with a fine deck, despite the fact that I could have had 2 Sulfurous Blasts... Is it me or do those things pop up a lot when you are capping a draft? The draft was pretty straighforward, and though it didn't really seem my colors were that open, I ended up with a fine deck.

And I lost in the first round again. Game 1 My opponent won the roll, and I started with a suspended Ith and Ephemeron. The fact that I had no early plays meant that he could curve out on me, and by the time my big game came into play I was at a low enough life total for his G/W deck to kill me with some rebel searching and two Thrill of the Hunts. I won game 2 very easily because of the fact that I got to start this time around, and got a Riftwing Cloudskate with Momentary Blink going, as well as some other men and a Griffin Guide.

Game 3 he once again got to a fast start, but I managed to stabilize with a Jedit's Dragoons (unreal versus the White decks) and started racing through the air. He once again got the rebel search engine going, which got him to enough creatures to kill me with Fortify the turn before I was able to kill him. I could have blocked differently and survived, but I was playing around Thrills, and thus got killed by the big +2/+0 despite having a Blink for my Dragoons. Sigh.
