I really wasn't sure about the first pick in this draft. I'm not a big fan of Word of Seizing or Phthisis, so I strongly considered taking the Spiketail Drakeling. The Sporesower Thallid seemed like a clear indication that Green was open, because there aren't many commons I take over it, certainly no Green ones, and there were no rares, uncommons or Timeshifted cards missing. But then there were no Green cards after the Gemhide Sliver. That was okay, because I knew I'd be getting Green in Planar Chaos, having not passed any. Planar Chaos was pretty good to me, and so was Future Sight. I guess there just weren't many Green cards in the Time Spiral packs. My deck ended up decent, but a few cards short.

Round 1 I played against a mediocre Red/White/Blue deck, with no real splash. Game 1 I had a good draw with Nessian Courser turn 3, Scarwood turn 4, and Flamecore turn 5. He got run over when I had Ghostfire to remove a blocker. Game 2 I mulliganed into a slow draw, and took a lot of damage when he had Riddle of Lightning to stop my Sporesower Thallid from blocking. He got me to seven, and then finished me off with Aven Mindcensor when my Harmonize and Woodreaders couldn't find an answer. Game 3 I got ahead early, but then drew a few too many lands. For about five turns I could have drawn any spell to win, but just before I did he drew into Angel of Retribution and Momentary Blink to steal the game and match.
