We have purchased thousands of private collections over the years, and we routinely buy out dealers and stores. Once your collection arrives, we will confirm the contents and quickly issue you a check or gift certificate (for trades). This process generally takes only a few days.

Whether this is your first time selling cards to StarCityGames.com or your hundredth, you might have a few questions about how to go about making this process and quick and easy as possible. Please read all of the instructions below! If you have any questions during any step of the process, please don't hesitate to ask. However, please note that our buyers (Ben Bleiweiss and Chris Woltereck) are usually in from Monday until Friday 10am-6pm EST, so all e-mails sent after business hours or over the weekends will be responded to at the first possible opportunity.

Our buylist includes a ton of cards! We buy all cards, from the lowliest common to the most powerful rare! You can view the list of cards we are buying by scrolling down the page - all of the cards are sorted by set.

Please note the following rules for selling us bulk cards:

1. Prices for bulk Rares, Foils and Commons/Uncommons are for English versions of the cards. All non-english foils/rares will be counted at half the above rates, rounded down.

2. Please pack your cards securely, using card/shoe boxes and arranging the cards in either rows or stacks that they don't shift in transit. All bulk cards should be arranged in the same direction (top-to-bottom and back-to-front)! Bulk cards not arranged in this manner will be purchased at 50% of our advertised price.

3. Offers containing excessive amounts of bulk from any one given set may be rejected. Please let us know ahead of time if you are selling 10,000+ bulk cards from any one given set.

4. The prices listed above and below are for Near Mint and Played cards. Please read the following definitions carefully - they apply for all cards sold to us via our buylist. We also reserve the right to further reduce the price of heavily played (seriously worn or damaged) cards.

Near Mint/Mint - A card that looks like new. It has no wear on it from shuffling, no scratch marks, no corner wear, and no whitening on the edges. Cards which are just pulled from a pack or which have only ever been played in sleeves are typically in this condition.

Slightly Played - A slightly worn card with no major flaws. Played cards might have slightly whitened edges, slightly frayed corners, or minor scratching. Cards which have been shuffled a few times without sleeves generally are in this condition.

Heavily Played - A card which has seen a lot of play. A card in Heavily Played might have all four borders whitened, multiples corners worn away, bends, creases, heavy scratching, inking (touching up borders with markers) or other defects. This is a card which has been played a ton without sleeves. Non-Bulk cards in heavily played condition will have their prices further reduced beyond the played price we offer, depending on the extent of the damage.

If you would prefer to receive trade credit instead of cash, simply indicate that in your e-mail, and we will offer you an additional 15% on your non-bulk items! Once we receive and verify your cards, you'll be issued an electronic gift certificate that can then be used for any purchase on the StarCityGames.com website. Please note that you are responsible for all shipping costs on trades. You do not need to send in an SASE with a trade!

If you wish to sell us cards, your sell order must total at least $10.00. If your sale totals less than $10.00, we will ask you to add cards to your order until you reach $10.00, or reject your sale proposal outright.

We will reply within one business day to approve or decline your order. Please note that 99% of all offers are approved, but our needs change quite frequently. If we approve the purchase, we will send you a confirmation e-mail. Please do not send us your cards until you receive a confirmation!

After you receive the e-mail, all you need to do is send the following:

* A print-out of the e-mail confirmation
* An SASE (Self-addressed Stamped Envelope)

Here are some rules for shipping us your cards:

1) All listed prices are for English versions of cards. All foreign-language cards are purchased at 50% of the listed English buy prices, unless indicated otherwise (exceptions are made for some Italian Legends and Portal 3 Kingdoms cards, as indicated on the buy list).

2) Be sure to include your SASE (Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope) and print out of your confirmation e-mail. Failure to provide either of these will result in a $1 penalty (up to $2 if you forget both). Note: You do NOT need to send in an SASE if you are getting store credit!

3) Make sure that the order of the cards on your list matches the physical order of the cards shipped to us. If there are multiple problems with this, or you do not have your cards in any order (outside of bulk cards), you will incur a 10% penalty and delays in the processing of your cards. It is much easier to compare your list to a stack of cards than having to put them back in order after they have been shipped!

4) Make sure your cards are packaged securely. We cannot be responsible for any items damaged in transit to our store. Some examples of secure packaging include sending cards in plastic card cases, and one-to-five row long boxes designed to hold trading cards. Do not put cards in plastic zip lock bags or rubber band them - these methods will result in damage to your cards! A good rule of thumb is that your cards should have no room to shift around during transit. Use newspaper or packing chips to tighten packaging. Collections that arrive in a state of complete disarray will incur penalties of up to 50% or may be refused outright. If we refuse to purchase your collection because this rule was not followed, you will be responsible for all shipping costs associated with returning your collection.

5) Please do not individually sleeve cards that are under $10 in value. We need to desleeve cards to grade them, and the more cards we have to desleeve, the longer it will take to process your buy.

6) We encourage you to use a trackable method (UPS or Fedex) to ship your package. You are allowed to ship to us via the post office (USPS), but please keep in mind that standard USPS shipping options cannot be tracked.

7) Once we receive your cards, we will review your package to make sure all the cards are accounted for, and they are in the condition described. If your cards were misgraded, we will send you an e-mail with an adjusted total for the buy. We will never process a buy with an adjusted total due to grading without first contacting you to make sure that the adjusted total is acceptable!

8) Please ship your cards within two business days of receiving approval for your buy. You do not need to get us the cards within two days, but the postmark on the package must reflect that the cards were shipped within two business days of your confirmation e-mail.

9) Payment is usually sent within a business week of confirmed receipt of your cards, and will be paid either via check or by electronic gift certificate (for trades)

10) We reserve the right to refuse any buy, at any time, for any reason.

11) If your cards need to be returned (usually due to issues with grading/card condition), you are responsible for the cost of shipping to have the cards returned.
