An Invitational is an invitation-only tournament in which competitors play both Standard and Legacy for a share of a $50,000 prize pool. Invitationals are held quarterly alongside a full Open Series weekend, feature live streaming video coverage over three days of competition and are run exclusively by StarCityGames.com.

An Open is a large tournament that is open to all players, offers Invitational slots to the top eight (8) finishers, and awards $10,000 in cash prizes. Opens feature live streaming video coverage, are generally held in larger metropolitan areas and are run exclusively by StarCityGames.com.

A Classic is a Standard or Sealed tournament that is open to all players, offers Invitational slots to the top eight (8) finishers, and awards $5,000 in cash prizes. Classics are generally held in mid-sized metropolitan areas, and are run by StarCityGames.com or select tournament organizers.

Elite Invitational Qualifiers (Elite IQs) are open to all players, offer Invitational slots to the top four (4) finishers, and award a minimum of $2,000 in cash prizes. Elite IQs are run by larger game stores.

Super Invitational Qualifiers (Super IQs) are open to all players, offer Invitational slots to the top two (2) finishers, and award a minimum of $1,000 in cash prizes. Super IQs are run by mid-sized to larger game stores.

Invitational Qualifiers (IQs) are open to all players, offer an Invitational slot to the winner, and award a minimum of $250 in cash prizes. IQs are offered by game stores of all sizes.

Open Trials (OTs) are open to all players, and offer a StarCityGames.com Open Series 'Free Entry' Voucher to winners, plus free Premium vouchers and exclusive playmats to top finishers. OTs are offered by game stores of all sizes.
