Rules Tip of the Day: When a permanent changes controllers, it does not count as coming into or leaving play, so abilities that trigger on either of those two events will not trigger.
Q: I have an Eye of the Storm in play. If I Suspend an Ancestral Vision, when it is unsuspended, will it get imprinted onto the Eye? If yes, will the Eye be able to play it every time I play a spell and Eye of the Storm's ability triggers?
A: Yes and yes. When you remove the last time counter from a suspended Ancestral Vision, you do actually play it, so it will trigger Eye of the Storm's ability. And you can play the copy of Ancestral Vision created by Eye of the Storm's triggered ability when this ability resolves. This is because you do not have to pay the mana cost of these copies.
Q: My opponent activates Feldon's Cane and I respond by playing Time Stop. What happens to Feldon's Cane?
A: The Feldon's Cane card is removed from the game when its ability is activated. So it will remain removed from the game, even though the ability does not resolve.
Q: Will a Blood Moon in play affect all snow lands, or just the non-basic ones?
A: Blood Moon will only affect the non-basic snow lands. Lands, like the snow-covered basic lands, can have both the basic and snow supertype.
Q: I have a question about Necromancer's Magemark. Do the other creatures you control need to be individually enchanted with an Aura or can you, for example, have a non-Aura enchantment like Bad Moon in play?
A: Bad Moon does not enchant anything, Its static ability creates an effect that is applied to your black creatures in play, but that does not make these creatures enchanted. The effect of Necromancer's Magemark, and the other Magemarks from Guildpact, only refers to those creatures you control that have an Aura attached to them.
Q: I just acquired a Word of Command for my Elder Dragon Highlander deck, and now the whole play group is wondering exactly what it can and cannot do. How does this interact with Phyrexian Tower? Can I make them sac a guy, and if so who chooses which one?
A: Yes, you can choose to have this targeted player use the second mana ability of his Phyrexian Tower to pay for the card that you are forcing them to play. And—as you are in control of all of the choices associated with playing this spell—you get to choose which creature they sacrifice to pay for this mana ability.
Q: I used Mind Bend on Wonder and changed Islands to Plains. The creature got zapped with a Shock and went to the graveyard. Does that Mind Bend effect still last or does it revert back to Island?
A: The effect from Mind Bend will only apply to this Wonder while it is in play. When it goes to the graveyard, this Wonder is treated as a new object; it will not have its text altered in any way. So your creatures will only have flying if you control an Island.
Q: If Zirilan of the Claw leaves play during the turn after I played and resolved its ability, will the "remove from game" ability still trigger?
A: Yes, that delayed trigger was created when Zirilan of the Claw's activated ability resolved. Zirilan does not need to be in play in order for the Dragon you searched for to be removed from the game.
