Q: When attacking, a Mogg Maniac deals two damage to something, and then has two damage dealt to itself by Guilty Conscience; now the damage gets redirected to a target and he takes damage again and so on.
Is Mogg Maniac + Guilty Conscience = Win condition?
A: No, it doesn't. Mogg Maniac deals damage to the opponent, triggering Guilty Conscience. When it resolves, it deals two damage to the Maniac, triggering the Maniac's ability. Before you put that ability on the stack, you check State-Based Effects. The Maniac has two damage, so it's put in the 'yard and the enchantment goes away. Then you stack and resolve the trigger, dealing two more to the opponent. The Guilty Conscience is no longer in play to trigger again.
Q: Can I copy spells generated by a Isochron Scepter using a Mirari?
A: Yes.
Q: If I have an Auriok Bladewarden in play equipped with a Banshee's Blade with four counters on it, making the Bladewarden a 5/5, and I use his special ability at the beginning of my turn and reequip the Banshee's Blade during my main phase, does the creature that I used Bladewarden's ability on keep the +5/+5 bonus? Or does it instead get a +1/+1, which is the Bladewarden's normal unequipped power?
A: It keeps the +5/+5. It only matters what the power of the Bladewarden is when the ability resolves, and the bonus then lasts until end of turn.
Q: Can I use Misdirection on Roar of the Wurm?
A: No. Roar of the Wurm is not targeted and therefore not a valid target for Misdirection.
Q: If I use Recall and discard X cards, am I able to get Recall back to my hand along with X amount of other cards from my graveyard?
A: No. While Recall is resolving and you're discarding cards and getting them back, the Recall is still on the stack. You remove Recall from the game as the last part of its resolution.
Q: With Isochron Scepter, you are allowed to pay additional costs to the spell; as well as meeting the"playing a card" requirement. With buyback, after the spell resolves, if you paid the buyback, it returns to your hand. Well, where exactly does the copied spell go? Does it work like a token or what?
A: It works kind of like a token. There's a specific State-Based ability that says any a copy of a spell in a zone other than the stack ceases to exist (rule 420.5j).
Q: If I have Mind's Eye and my opponent Smashes it, can I pay one to draw a card off of his cantrip?
A: No. You follow the instructions on Smash one at a time, in the order they're listed. When he draws the card, the Mind's Eye is no longer in play, so it can't trigger.
Q: Does Damping Matrix stop life gain from Exalted Angel or creatures already equipped with Loxodon Warhammer?
A: No, because those aren't activated abilities, they're triggered.
Q: How does Mirrodin's Disciple of the Vault interact with mass removal, a.k.a. Akroma's Vengeance and Wrath of God and Oblivion Stone and the like. Does its loss of life ability trigger for all the artifacts that may be going to the graveyard along with it, or does its ability not trigger because it has gone to the graveyard upon the resolution of whatever mass removal spell just hit the board?
A: It triggers for each appropriate permanent that goes to the graveyard at the same time. If you have three artifacts and a Disciple in play when your opponent plays Akroma's Vengeance, the Disciple's ability would trigger three times.
Q: I have a Proteus Staff and target one of my creatures. If that creature is killed in response and I have no other creatures in my library, do I create an infinite loop - or do I simply reveal all the cards, see no creature, and then put all those cards on the bottom in any order?
A: If the target is invalid on resolution, the Proteus Staff ability is countered. You don't follow any of its instructions.
Q: If I have Tangleroot and Equilibrium both in play and cast an Ornithopter, can I use the one green to bounce the Ornithopter back to my hand, creating a loop to use for casting Mind's Desire or any other storm card?
A: No. The Equilibrium triggers when you play the spell, so the Ornithopter isn't yet in play to be targeted.
Q: Will Isochron Scepter with Brain Freeze imprinted on it still trigger the storm ability?
A: Yes.
