What deck did you play? D4gr0n.
Where did the deck come from? It's similar to Peter O.'s deck list from GenCon, one main deck slot changed - I had a great time with the deck.
What was good about your deck? Good matchups against Stax and Oath (creatures are irrelevant); main deck Verdant Force and Necromancy, basic lands against Stax
What would you change about it? The matchup with Control Slaver wasn't so good, but I wasn't really sure what to do about; won the one matchup so... content with the list, main deck and sideboard has all been good.
Best matchup? Stax matchup is unbelievably good, except when it gets first-turn Trinisphere with backup.
Worst matchup? Control Slaver - I'm terrified of it. One matchup had an illegal sideboard -he'd left his Ancestral Recall in his board.
Do you own your own power or did you have to borrow it? I own most of it, but I have a friend that shared cards with me to make up the difference. I sold some power today for some extra cash.

What deck did you play? Stax.
Where did the deck come from? I had Workshop Aggro built, but was concerned about combo so transformed it to Stax.
What was good about your deck? I put in Karn to animate the artifacts, and Fire / Ice and Triskelion in the maindeck to handle Goblin Welders.
What would you change about it? I'd maindeck Platinum Angel due to the high combo count; I played against four combo decks in the Swiss, one in the top 8.
Best matchup? Aggro (FCG, mirror Stax)
Worst matchup? Oath
Do you own your own power or did you have to borrow? I own one and borrowed the rest.

What deck did you play? Food Chain Goblins
Where did the deck come from? I borrowed it from a friend (but customized the sideboard slightly).
What was good about your deck? It has tremendous speed, and lots of permanents to stay ahead of Control Slaver.
What would you change about it? The sideboard needs some changes (like adding in Tormod's Crypt and taking out Blood Moons). Maybe I should have played Goblin Sligh with the burn instead of Food Chain.
Best matchup? I had a Blue/White control from round 1, and I smoke that deck; in the rest of the matches, I just have to play well.
Worst matchup? Dragon. I only played against it once but it wrecked me hard.
Do you own your own power or did you have to borrow? I proxied the three I used.

Where are you from? Middlesex, Virginia.

What deck did you play? The Riddler (The name came from a riddle: I follow a Tutor, I wear a Mask, I'm only here... to kick your ass. What am I?)
Where did the deck come from? It's a homebrew. I used The Man Show (also known as Aggro Workshop), then adapted it to beat Oath.
What was good about your deck? I played against Food Chain, and the first turn I got Mishra's Workshop, Sol Ring, Illusionary Mask, and Phyrexian Dreadnought. Then I followed it up with Juggernaut. Workshop/Trinisphere is the best disruption in the game. I saw how effective it was in The Man Show, so why not add a faster win?
What would you change about it? Nothing. It's doing better than I even thought it would do.
Best matchup? Anything that doesn't have Counterspells - aggro will lose to me because I have bigger guys. This is a Welderless Workshop, so I can run my secret tech of Hanna's Custody. That turns off Goblin Welders, and protects my artifacts at the same time.
Worst matchup? Counterspells/Keeper style. But I built my sideboard to beat Counterspells and Stax (another tough matchup, but they have to have a turn 1 Tangle Wire - that one card early is a problem).
Do you own your own power or did you have to borrow? I own my own. The only things proxied were Workshops, because I sold them when I thought they were going to be restricted.

Where are you from? Lexington Park, MD. (I play at Aardvark's.)

What deck did you play? Oath, and I felt dirty about it all day... but it did the job nicely.
Where did the deck come from? A five-proxy Meandeck Oath, with the sideboard teched out for the Workshop and Tendrils of Agony matchups. I put in Energy Flux and Hurkyl's Recall for Workshop, and Arcane Laboratory for Tendrils.
What was good about your deck? People were expecting Control Slaver from Waterbury, but I didn't think people would have too much hate against Oath. Monoblue with a better kill condition? You gotta know what to counter.
What would you change about it? Nothing much, really - it ran pretty smooth. If I had more power, I could have played it a little stronger.
Best matchup? Workshop aggro... but any deck is tough in Type 1. EBA is a great deck!
Worst matchup? I didn't get to play any combo, and I'd be afraid of combo. Heck, random crap in the early rounds scared me.
Do you own your own power or did you have to borrow? I had to borrow and proxy my power, and it hurt me. This Time Walk that I won is my first power.

Where are you from? Cary, NC (near Raleigh). I play at Sports Zone.
Age? 18
What deck did you play? An EBA variant with Meddling Mages, Exalted Angels, and Phyrexian Negators.
Where did the deck come from? I read Stephen Menendian's article about two weeks ago and I saw the Dumptruck decklist. I thought it would be decent for the metagame with a few changes - so I took out the Ophidians, added Mind Twists and Impulses, then upped the Swords to Plowshares count. My old deck was black/blue, decided to add white to it.
What was good about your deck? Definitely Meddling Mage (calling Goblin Welder was really good all day), and Chains of Mephistopheles in the sideboard helped.
What would you change about it? Nothing, I would have kept it the same. I got unlucky against the Oath deck - I had a great hand against Oath, but he had two Force of Wills, so he could Force my Force.
Best matchup? Combo decks.
Worst matchup? Control Slaver. I ran across it once, but he had a fifty-six card decklist so he got a game loss, we ended up drawing the match.
Do you own your own power or did you have to borrow? I had to borrow one, I proxied two, and I own two (Mox Jet and Mox Sapphire). I hope to pick up a Ruby today!

What deck did you play? Control Slaver
Where did the deck come from? From a frantic twenty-minute dash this morning to put it together from a list from Ted's computer. I carbon copied it straight from the last Type 1 tournament.
What was good about your deck? I drew Force of Will a lot in my opening hand, and no one had a lot of hate for it - a lot of people thought no one would be playing it because of hate, so they left their hate at home.
What would you change about it? I wouldn't run Platinum Angel main - she's terrible. Most decks have a way to deal with her, so she got boarded out every time. I'd probably put a Memory Jar in or more removal.
Best matchup? I know nothing about Type 1! Probably the non-Workshop control decks.
Worst matchup? I know nothing about Type 1! Let me go ask someone... Hey, Meandeck guys? (He speaks to Team Meandeck.) Apparently, the deck has a reasonable chance against any deck. Turn 1 pressure can be a problem, so I had to aggressively mulligan into a Force of Will in some matchups.
Do you own your own power or did you have to borrow some? The only cards in the deck that were mine were three Duresses that I pulled from my Extended deck.

What deck did you play? Stax 5/3 Hybrid.
Where did the deck come from? I modified Workshop/artifact deck that I've played for so long. I just tweaked it for the metagame to handle Slaver, Oath, and combo.
What was good about your deck? Workshops, obviously. It has consistency and puts out a lot of threats.
What would you change about it? Maybe a couple cards, just because I didn't use them much - I didn't use Time Walk at all. I could probably find something more useful.
Best matchup? Anything mana-intensive. This deck doesn't really have a "best" matchup, except maybe for anything that doesn't have a lot of permanents and relies on instants for the kill.
Worst matchup? Hard to say! I haven't played against anything that I can't beat. Maybe the mirror matchup.
Do you own your own power or did you have to borrow? I own it all. No proxies, no borrowing.
